Hello everyone

Thailand has many temples, including ancient temples built hundreds of years ago and newly built temples. The beauty and art of design will be different but in terms of value, it is not inferior at all. Today I will take everyone to see ancient temples in northern Thailand. This temple is called "Wat Puak Chang", which used to be a community of elephant herders therefore named according to the way of life of the community.

Wat Puak Chang, about 485 years old, was built in 1537. It is a small temple located in Hai Ya Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. You can see that the name of the temple is also in the Burmese language because it was influenced by Myanmar itself. Wat Puak Chang, through hundreds of years, can tell about the history of Buddhism that had prospered in the past.

When walking into the temple, you will see a small pavilion with outstanding architecture in Lanna's style that enshrines beautiful Buddha images that are valuable to the minds of Buddhists. Outside the decorated pavilion is a small garden filled with green plants, making it refreshing to look at.

The flower that you will see in almost every Thai temple is the "lotus" which is commonly used to pay homage to monks and the Buddha likened human beings to four types of lotuses. The first type of lotus is the lotus in the mud, this means people who do bad things are not afraid of sin. The second type of lotus grows up in the deep water which represents a human being who knows good and evil. The third type of lotus is the water-filled lotus, meaning humans who have a kind heart and keep the precepts. And the last type of lotus is a lotus flower that emerges from the water and represents a person who keeps the precepts and does good deeds. And what types of lotus are you?

Inside the pavilion enshrines Phra Chao Thanjai, a Buddha image that the villager's respect and venerate a lot. And on both sides of the wall as protecting the Buddha, there is a floating stucco, it is an image of a deity on both sides which is very delicate and beautiful.

This pavilion is a small pavilion that runs along the temple wall. There are statues of deities and sacred things that the villagers believe in and have faith in along the wall as well.

Looking from inside the pavilion, you will see a small garden beautifully decorated and create shade for the temple area.

It is a white arch with beautiful patterns, this is another entrance to the pavilion as well, this pavilion is shaped like an El.

This arch inside is enshrined as a Buddha image. Some villagers come to make merit and offer food to the monks.

Next will be a large temple at the front of the hall, there are two Naga statues and in the center is a statue of Phra Sivali, a disciple of the Buddha who is excellent in fortune.

When walking up to the temple, looking back, you will see the paintings on the walls that are beautiful and delicate and see the school building. Yes, there is a school in the temple, in the past, those who could study were only boys because they studied in the temple. Later, a school was built in the temple so that girls could come to study. Most rural schools are located within the temple grounds.

The temple is an architectural style in the Lanna style the pattern is delicate and beautiful. On the wall is a mural depicting angels and fairies.

Inside the viharn enshrines a Buddha image in the subduing Mara posture with the mouth of the red mouth as the president which was influenced by Myanmar art.

On the walls are paintings depicting the life of Lord Buddha from birth, enlightenment, and passing away.

I hope through this post to have made you travel far from home and to have made you discover 2 or 3 things about Thailand :)

I'm looking forward to another Thailand post; in this post, I'm curious to enjoy 2-3 photos of the environment outside the fence and related natural scenery, maybe. Best of luck in the future!
