Most of the tin mining workers were Chinese from Penang (a Malaysian island). Boat ride across the sea to sell labor in Phuket. The Mining Museum is located at the Old Tho Sung Mine, Kathu District, Phuket Province. This area is a large old mine located in the middle of a valley that used to have a huge amount of tin. SHAFT MINING OR DRIFTING

GROUND SLUICING

OPEN EAST OR OPEN-CUT MINING
Open-cut mining is a surface mining technique/open pit mining technique used for placer deposits located on the nearby hillside.
