100$ per day is my dream income, can it happen on Hive?
This is one of the biggest questions that many people ask me. I used to wonder about this too if the Hive ecosystem can become my primary source of income. Currently, my day job is my primary source of income for me. I would say if I'm able to earn 100$ per day from Hive by any means that becomes 3000$ per month, I can confidently say that Hive can be my primary source of income. With the current needs, I think 3000$ per month should be sufficient to live in my country. But that being said, it is only an income that solves basic needs. It wouldn't make me rich enough though.
I wouldn't anyways stop with that income alone. I have to keep finding other opportunities to earn otherwise I will not be able to take care of my spending and let my asset grow. But considering the fact that 3000$ is sufficient, I can make Hive my primary source of income and work towards having some small side incomes as well.
How easy is 100$ per day?
I have given this a thought a couple of times already. In order to make 100$ a day, lots of effort would be required. Let's consider I have enough collateral in the form of HBD. I will need a total of 182,500 HBD in my savings at 20% interest rate to give me 100 HBD per day if I'm not wrong. This is not something very easy. I don't think anyone on Hive is having that much HBD in the savings.
People will have to do hard work to earn a lot of money. Some income can come from curation rewards and author rewards but those are all very small and maybe having different sources of small income can contribute to a full 100$ income per day. This is something that I'm giving thought to. Maybe I work on 10 different projects which give me a minimum of 10$ per day. Or at least come up with 10 different income streams that can give me 10$ per day. This way I would be able to easily reach my goal of 100$ per day.
Importance of Passive income
It is very important to have a good passive income source instead of an active income. If I have to make Hive my primary source of Income, I would consider having it as a passive income source. I don't want to spend several hours a day here and earn. I would prefer to spend the time on something that I really enjoy. Of course, I enjoy my time here on Hive but I would say there are other things that amuse me even more in my real life.
I believe having a passive income can only help me chase those dreams. I always wanted to travel around India and especially wanted to do it when I'm healthy. There is no point in having lots of money with me when I'm too old and unhealthy. I wouldn't be able to enjoy my life the way I wanted. So it is good to have enough passive income right now so that I can stop running behind money and start enjoying my life.

It's possible but right now with prices being way down it's simply not possible with hive unless you're one of the few that are getting $180+ on posts and then some curation rewards. The big issues half is instantly locked in for 13 weeks! So that $100 you just earned only about $50 of it is liquid for you to do with what you want.
However if LEO returned to $0.25+ again and hive over $1 and they both held steady I could see that being possible. One thing I love about LEO is it's starting to bring value INTO hive through fees, ad revenue etc instead of being 100% reliant on supply and demand. It's something I hope I see more places do.
@reward.app solves that locked up problem quite easily, it liquefies the post rewards for a 1% fee (and 4% for the curators in the default setting)

The 100$ income stream that I'm talking about should happen not only through blogging but also through other means. Like playing games. DeFi on Hive and many other things.
I think it is possible but not right now. Some people do it but it is in the down market that we have to build stake so we can get better income when prices rise. I failed to do it during the last bear market

At these prices I think it would be tough unless you are a whale. When it was up around $3, it was actually pretty do-able. We need some positive price action here and you might be good! Just plan ahead for when it goes back down!

As I'm watching Hive Fest and everything being built on the Hive blockchain, I'm sure the price will be over $5 in the next few years. I'm not touching my Powered up Hive until after Dec 2026.
I'd honestly never touch my powered up hive. Why not just keep it and let it earn you more. Unless you have some real life emergency it just feels like killing the goose that lays the golden egg.
Even if I got $50 per day I'd be getting more than minimum wage here. Hive is really interesting for me because it allows me to try and work a little, something I can't really do IRL due to my health problems.
HIVE might one day become my main source of income, but of course I'll have some money spread across other places passively. For now I'm just trying to find my niche and come up with new and creative ideas for this platform, I really don't want to saturate it with things that already exist in Youtube or other places.
And sometimes, even doing posts that are not very popular still feels really good, because I've got friends here, and it's great talking to them or to random nice people. I've been in love with this community since day one, even with all the trolls and conspiracy theorists, it's still a nice place.
The best plan is to be ready when the next action happens!

I too feel that having a passive income is an important thing and in modern times it is almost necessary. Hive can help us. I think that with HIVE you can reach a passive income of $ 100 per month, without dreaming ... that is, I think it is a very achievable figure for many
It would be fantastic to earn enough from Crypto/Hive. I certainly enjoy interacting with Hive more than I enjoy my day job, but feel very far away from being able to give up my day job ! But if taking up your thoughts on 10 projects that could contribute, I wonder what they would be ? As said, HBD savings could be one. There are many that do well from Splinter lands - could that be another. Liquidity pools maybe. Posting and curation another. Trading between HBD & HIVE.
It would be interesting to see what Hivers thought their best candidates for the 10 would be.....

You think so? I guess it depends on how you're earning that money. If you've earning it from HBD interest, delegations, curation, proper content creating, sales of goods/services, and maybe some paid gigs I don't see why you'd get downvoted.

I do think it is risky to think like that as firstly HBD could easily change to a lower APR at some point. The safest bet is to try and achieve this whilst you are in a bear market as then you should be more than safe. Not easy and you have time to keep on building your stake an looking for projects to invest into to create streams. I have been looking for 10 that can achieve just $25 per month and have been struggling to find the 10 I have 1 outside of Hive that is doing very well. Whilst looking for the other 9 I will just keep growing what I have already.

I think it's possible with Splinterlands, blogging and things like the HBD savings. It just depends because you would still want to grow your earnings as well even while making a living off Hive.

For me it's currently a stable and passive source of $20 dollars a day, that is the current goal and I've given myself close to 5 years to create such a source.
It's easy making that much actively, when the economy is doing alright and the business deals we get here are coming from both left and right; earning $20 dollars a day becomes easy then. But when we shift to the passive category, making $20 to $10 dollars even becomes difficult, that's where the obstacles reside, especially if we're looking for stable and "safe" options.
Yet, it surely is possible though, it will just take quite a bit of time, and a bit of magic with compounding effects.
