Benefits of purchasing WORKERBEE and staking them

avatar

There are multiple earning opportunities inside Hive Ecosystem. WORKERBEE is one such opportunity on Hive Engine. I personally think this is a great investment. The main reason is that BEE is the Hive Engine token and WORKERBEE is the token that produces BEE. Apart from producing BEE, it also acts as a governance token. I would consider this as a silent passive income investment on Hive.

In this article, I'm going to be sharing the benefits WORKERBEE can give us if we purchase and stake them. Many people who are new to the crypto world and especially new to Hive and Hive Engine come up with questions on WORKERBEE. I get a few questions from people when I ask people to vote for my witness. I see the following two major benefits that we can have from purchasing and staking WORKERBEE. At the current market price, WORKERBEE is close to 2.4$ per coin and pretty easy to purchase on Hive Engine.

Stake and earn BEE every one hour

WORKERBEE acts as a mining token for BEE which is one of the most powerful tokens on Hive Engine. If we stake WORKERBEE, there will be a lottery on Hive Engine that happens every hour and it rewards people who stake WORKERBEE with BEE rewards. The value an individual gets is based on their stake. If they stake more, there is a higher chance to get rewarded every hour and if the stake is less it can take some time to get rewarded.

We can also delegate our WORKERBEE to mining pools like @neoxianminer and get some additional rewards. The account @neoxianminer is a collective mining pool and shares the rewards with the delegators every day. It also shares the Witness earnings earned by the account every day. This is an additional income for the delegators.

Stake and vote on Hive Engine Witnesses

Staking WORKERBEE not only gives us the opportunity to earn some BEE tokens but it also gives us the opportunity to participate in selecting Hive Engine Witnesses. We have a set of people on Hive who are called witnesses who run the witness node for us to keep the blockchain active. Latest code changes and some collective decisions are made by the top 20 witnesses. We have the same concept on Hive Engine as well.

With the help of WORKERBEE stake, one can choose who should be the top witness by voting them. Witnesses who get more number votes and high vote value in terms of WORKERBEE stake will be the top 20 witnesses signing the blocks for the sidechain.

The value of WORKERBEE has been really great, it has also been producing good passive income for those who hold a good amount of stake. As BEE is the Hive Engine's primary token and WORKERBEE is capable of producing BEE for circulation, these two are considered to be the most powerful token on Hive Engine. If not today, they are expected to have a great value in the future.

So would it be worth it for smaller accounts to just delegate the workerbees to someone and get some small profit compared to being "lucky"

I might go for high risk, high reward.

Ye I get that. But luck plays a role here, so you might come out ahead if you just delegated and get the persistent dividends from that, since it also depends on how many workerbees you have right.

I think it's better for smaller accounts to delegate to the pools to get rewards. The poster has mentioned his pool but I delegate over to @ph1102 because he returns some bonus tokens along with my share of BEE tokens every week. You can see the most recent report here. So there are definitely choices available.

I don't know if they can really be considered the most power token on Hive Engine. To an extent I realize that it's critical to people making a tribe and token on Hive Engine but there really isn't a need for BEE after you pay whatever features you need.

Every NFT project runs on BEE. Not just token creation and tribe creation alone. So there will be a decent demand for BEE.

Great use cases for WorkerBee and I think I need to add this one to my portfolio as well. I wonder what APY% the WorkerBee would provide.

I'm not sure what would be the APY but as long as it gives me my investment back slowly and steadily, I'm happy.

Thanks for educating me on BEE mining with WORKERBEE stake. I think I'm looking in this direction forthwith.

You can calculate it by yourself. It take somewhere 30-40 minutes.
