Learning from other Business people

These days I have started listening to experiences from other business people. The biggest advantage here is that we might get the chance to understand the paths they would have taken and learn from the mistakes they had made. If we are new to business, getting their experience will be good and we can be careful while taking our baby steps.

Focus on quality than money

The very first lesson I learn from many videos is that people talk a lot about having a good business model and not getting distracted. While executing the business model they make sure their quality is very good. If you look at the market, it is filled with lots of business people and anyone can achieve a solution but giving it with a high quality is what many people lack and that is where a business will gain or lose its customers.

I'm just remembering one of the recent events that happened to me related to this context. I expect a lot of aesthetics and high-quality workmanship from people who do some tasks for me. Recently I had to do wood work in my new apartment and I brought in someone who was recommended by my friend. I was very much impressed with the way the guy approached me and also his pricing was very good and the way he communicated was also very great. When the work started, that is when the true face started to show up. He was good but his team was not very great. The quality of work was not very great at the end. I had to keep repeating things to him and that was not making him happy.

Purely in this case, the cost was not a big deal at all, and in fact I paid him completely. Finally, after a lot of struggle, the outcome was also very good. Now after all these experiences, I will be hesitant to recommend this guy to someone else. He might have done a great job in getting the work from me but with simple things, he lost my trust and I will not be his promotor and would like to choose someone else for my future woodwork needs.

Customer experience is a strong feeling

We have to learn a lot about customer experience in the business. All other parameters will vanish if we can give a great customer experience. Even the unhappy customers in the business would be ready to give us another chance if we are really honest and if we can give them a great experience. There are times we cannot do much and customer experience can become very bad. But despite that even if it becomes a monetary loss for us, it is good to keep the customer on our side than trying to think about money.

Customer experience has to be very strong because they are not just our direct customers but usually customers are also seen as our marketing people. They go to others and they talk about our work. If we keep them happy, they say good things about our work. If we make them feel good, they will want to promote our business and product to many people, and in the marketing world, they say that if we have more happy customers, we don't have to spend a lot of money on marketing.

Unfortunately, so many people in business no longer focus on quality all because they want to make money and at the same time, some people don’t even want to buy quality products again because they don’t have enough funds for it so they will rather buy quantity

Thank you for sharing your personal experience and the valuable lesson you learned. Your story highlights the importance of prioritizing quality over cost when it comes to business operations. I believe in this current dispensation, quality should be our top priority not just because of the price. Some might have a low cost but a great quality and some in the other way around.

I have come to discover that people always tend to go after quality much more than quantity and so it is necessary that we continually work upon our quality much more than the quantity
