More light on the gaming industry
In the recent few months, the gaming industry is having a good time. Especially people in the blockchain world see the gaming industry as a great opportunity which is indeed a great thing. Many people who have an interest in playing games have now started thinking about launching their own games either individually or by joining hands with big gaming companies.
I used to be a big fan of games and I used to play a lot of games a few years back. After I got into the blockchain world, I literally stopped playing games that don't pay me anymore. Even though I see good games emerging where most of them are mobile-friendly games, I don't spend too much time playing them. Even if I play such games, I get bored easily because it doesn't pay me anything.
Two days back I was surfing through the Google Play store looking for some good game to play. I like RPG genre and strategy game is my thing than action games. I did find a few interesting games but later when I thought of playing the game, I realized that I'm wasting time on that and in that time I can do some coding stuff or play blockchain games to earn some money. This is how things have become now. Not just me but I hear the same thing from some of my blockchain friends as well.
New games emerging
Blockchain had changed the way we look at things now. Especially gaming industry is looking at scaling by attracting investors from the blockchain world. NFTs had been a great addition to the gaming industry. People make use of it in many ways and some people use the NFT features to create game components. There are also games on blockchain that are slowly becoming decentralized.
I guess in the future most of the ordinary browser-based games and mobile games would become blockchain games backed by a strong cryptocurrency or a token. Splinterlands is one best example of that. It just started as a small game but now it is setting a benchmark for many blockchain games that are emerging out.
I'm now starting to think about what will happen to this gaming industry in another 5 years. I might as well come up with a new game. Who knows. If I have enough time to work on developing my own game, I would go for it. I already have a few concepts in my mind.
In the near future, there will be more games available that give a play2earn experience to the gamers. As the options are limited now, the gamers need not spend time to choose which game they should be playing but in the future, they will be able to pick games based on their area of interest and start making money by just playing games. Many investors are now looking at the game industry and trying to launch new games. Forget about the big guys, even long-term gamers have that idea of launching their own game.

I like blockchain gamer. Or virtual game manager. Gaming miner sounds cool too. :)

Lol yeah definitely possible. People would hire that person to use them for testing their games. I already know a few people who are game testers. They just test games by playing it and earn.

It’s a trend. People may not want to play certain games unless they get paid. The days of big companies profiting off of gamers are over.

Already the direction of the earning has changed towards the players in the form of tournaments. For example DOTA 2 tournaments are all highly rewarding. But this strategy will be for in-game rewarding.

Not yet. They would stop releasing new games, and maintaining the existing ones, including the infrastructure behind them (for example official multiplayer servers, game update servers, content servers). Microtransactions is a huge business today. Big companies are earning an incredible amount of money from players through microtransactions. It is certain that more and more opportunities are emerging for gamers, but the big companies are still earn most of the money in this industry. The days of big companies will be over, when they start to be less big companies.
I believe you can do your own game if you are willing to do it. There is nothing hard for someone with high determination
Thank you so much. I'm already working in some game projects. Not my own idea but as a developer. 😀

I'm still not quite there where I feel like a game is wasting my time unless I'm earning from it. Blockchain Gaming has a huge potential but I gotta be quite honest and say that the games just aren't good enough yet. Splinterlands has potential if they add some proper gameplay to their game like Gods Unchained has. I'm looking forward to giving Guild of Guardians a go sometime next year though. Lost Relics is looking good to.
I definitely agree with your point. True that the blockchain games are not yet live with full potential or good gaming experience. But I guess it will gradually improve in the next 5 years. Maybe there will also be FPS games on blockchain.

I also thought and talked about this many months ago.
This would be awesome. And MOBA games.
Blockchain gaming has huge potential.
Why some people think that? What about the enjoyment? Having fun? I think that if you enjoy it, then it is not time wasting.
That's the most important to me. And, I earn from it by using Hive.
I am strongly convinced that the gaming sector will be disrupted. I am more than convinced that many gamers will convert to blockchain-based games in the next two years. Also on the blockchain there are many projects dedicated to gaming, where the slogan is "play to earn" ... I don't think there is anything more beautiful for a gamer.
Indeed, play to earn is the most attractive thing that a gamer can get. Most of the gamers are kids and if they are offered with extra money, they would love to play for money and which is what is going to happen.

Splinterlands is my first rpg gaming experience and it’s made it so hard for me to even want to try any other. I’ve been eyeing Axie Infinity from afar but I don’t seem to get it, perhaps it’s because I haven’t played it I don’t know, but my interest in trying other rpg blockchain games is very low.
I’m more of a action first person shooter adventure gamer, I can’t wait for such games to be on blockchain.

I'm sure there will soon be FPS games as well coming to the blockchain. The days are not too far. I heard that Alien Worlds is already working on a Battle Royal game similar to fortnite and soon it can get hot. Don't know but yeah let's hope.

I think that is the future of the gaming industry. Its no longer going to be only the company benefiting from the consumer but the consumers also benefitting financially.

Yes already the revolution has started in the form of tournaments and stuff and we are just few steps away from play to earn. 😀

Amazing gamer
In our life time some of us went from flip phone to metaverse. Crazy to think what used to be sci-fi is reality
