Solid reasons why people play Blockchain games

avatar

Nobody would believe if I say that Blockchain games are going to be the future. That's because real-world games are so good right now. Imagine introducing a cryptocurrency factor and a blockchain factor into these games. That is where everything becomes interesting. In the coming years, there will be more and more games that would be great to play and that would also provide an earning opportunity for the players.

During my college days, I used to socialize a lot and had a few friends from other countries. They used to brag a lot saying that they get paid for playing games. I used to be jealous because it should be an interesting job to play games, share experiences, report bugs, etc, and get paid for the same. Who would not want if their entertainment source is becoming their full-time job and paying them regularly every month? Today that is the reality. Many people play Splinterlands and have that as their full-time job and earn money from this blockchain for their living. There are a few solid reasons why people play blockchain games. Some people have this as their source of income. Let's read further to know more.

Curious about blockchain technology

Blockchain technology is something new in this world. Even though this technology is there for more than a decade now, the adoption rate is very low. Either people are scared or people find this complicated. People sometimes think that traditional games are better compared to blockchain games because of the learning curve here.

There are still some people who try out a lot of games. I do have a friend who wants me to tell him if I find out about any new games that reward people. Rewarding is secondary but people are curious about this technology and want to be a part of this technology as it grows. It can take some time for this technology to grow further but at least for now, it is improving day by day.

Blockchain games are Play2Earn

Earning is one of the biggest criteria. I have to admit that most of the games people wish to try are all Play2Earn games. They think that their time is spent on things that reward them ultimately. That's one of the biggest reasons why people are fond of Play2Earn games. These days there are so many games that provide Play2Earn opportunities. People can invest and earn from the game but at the same time, there are also games that reward the users if they play the game instead of investing their money. So time can be converted to money with the help of the Play2Earn games.

Provides an opportunity to earn cryptocurrencies

People who are new to cryptocurrencies and the concept of cryptocurrencies find this amusing because if they have to learn the concepts through other means, it can be challenging but if they play a game and get rewarded for the game that, in turn, gives them cryptocurrencies, then it is easy to get started. I got this feedback from some of my friends that they initially onboarded to games and started playing the games. Then later they came to know about this technology and wanted to explore this technology.

Want to be an early bird

This is probably the intention of many people. I personally also think that this can work great. The main reason is that when Splinterlands started, I did not pay attention to the game and I was not interested in playing games on Blockchain. Something made me feel that this platform is only for blogging but not suitable for gaming. Another reason was that I had to do a lot of investment initially to join and start playing the game. I was not ready at that point. Then later after a year when I joined the game, the earning opportunity was very good. I still consider myself to be an early bird in this game because I did not invest much but even in this bear market, my account value is pretty decent and mostly from playing the game regularly.

I like to play games, if I can earn by doing so then it’s a no brainer for me. This is why playtoearn web 3 games will always have my interest and I can’t wait to see my favorite web2 games pivot because why the hell not?

I think it's the complexity that's why people shy away from blockchain games. You at least have to be curious enough to play blockchain games. I haven't played any yet but I have invested in a few of them. It's an added benefit of blockchain games :)

Yes people find it hard to understand the concepts. Hopefully onboarding becomes easier in the future.
