Living in an African home is insane... You never know what can come up in the next minute. You will think all is good until you realize they aren't and the next minute? You don't even what you are thinking of!

As a child living under the claws of your parents, especially your mother, you end up exhibiting all the characteristics of a pregnant woman. One minute you are happy and sad. In the next minute, you are crying and wish to leave the house for good, and a minute later... The house becomes a perfect haven for you. That's the insanity of the highest order. Isn't it?

Mothers have a strange way of protecting you and wanting to kill you at the same time. You can never understand them but if you can explain how a circular pizza ends up being triangular then maybe... Just maybe, you can understand the tiniest bit about how they are the way they are. But I assure you, if you can explain the true conversation that ensued between Eve and the serpent, you may be one step ahead of millions in figuring something out.

Mother's undying love cannot be measured no matter how long scientists decided to come up with the World's longest ruler. You will agree with me that mothers are true gems. They are kind, and caring, and will lovingly beat the hell out of you and feed you later which you can't say no to. Instead, you will gratefully eat the food cooked or regret your actions immediately if you don't.

Fathers on the other hand are tough, it is a facade most of them put on. But they are big babies who respect the will of the mother if they want a stable home. You will find them sulking when Mother asks them to do something sometimes because they can't say no to it. It is very cute that mothers have this loving aura around them.

Mothers are beings that don't like it when you press your phone all the time. They will find a very loving way to get on your nerve until you feel the need to be a Superman and travel to space for a long while. But then, you realize you can't and wear a solemn look and put down the phone.

Have you also forgotten how they can send you to bring different things in one stance? They make life simple yet full of complexity because of how their heart loves. Hehe. It is exciting and yet frustrating.

As far as they are concerned, you are their baby no matter how grown you have become. And that doesn't stop them from wiping your legs with a broom when you watch them sweep the floor while you sit and laugh hard at the movie you are watching even when you had insisted on sweeping earlier but they didn't agree. Still, you just have to love them for the tons of sacrifices they've made for you.

Today is Mother's Day and I celebrate every woman out there, including me. If you intend to argue that I am not a mother yet, well... Good for you. Let's talk in the comment section while I explain nicely why I am a mother. No, don't worry. I won't scream at all.
