This Halloween Will...

Closing her ears tightly with her hands, Rachel bit under her lips while she sucked in a long breath, and the voice that was tirelessly waiting to be let out. "They'll leave soon, and I'll be free." She kept on chanting in her head. But, the noise got closer and closer as heat found their stifle way down her body like she was a path to their success. She held the bed cover tightly until she felt those familiar hands on her.

Her eyes opened abruptly as she cursed silently underneath her breath. "Leave me alone, you dimwits." But, they didn't hear her as the blanket was yanked off her. With a big huff, Rachel's eyes met her sister, Catherine's face as she spat out.

"I told you people I am not interested in going out. I need space."

"Well, you should have thought deeply on that before coming as a child to this family. As long as you have the same blood as ours, you'll go." Angela, her eldest sister, spoke, looking at her nails.

"Mom!... Dad!..." Racheal screamed loudly with her lungs painful from the heavy screaming, but no one came running up for her.

"We need that energy at the store Racheal, you have to get a special made Halloween costume that's says, "Don't see me, I am a ghost". You should know by now that Mom and Dad have gone Halloween shopping, and we have to go too." Catherine said, barking with lots of laughter.

"I don't like you both!" Rachel spat back.

"You don't like anyone, Racheal, you only like this room and everything in it. You can't continue leaving this way when we are all full of energy around you." Catherine added with her face scrunched up.

"There's a lot of peace at home. You guys need to understand that peace and quietness are the best way to live life." Racheal replied, holding on to the blanket she had used as a cover.

"If we have to drag you out today as we have always done, we will. You are almost 15, and adulthood is just a toe away. Would you like your dearest sisters to push you out like a mad woman into the street when Halloween has not even begun? Tell me, my dearest introvert life-like sister, do you really want that?" Angela chipped in with a smirk on her lips and hands ready to drag their last born out the street if that was what it was going to take.

Racheal, knowing well what her sister's smirk entails, stood up and dressed up immediately before she turned around with a long sigh. "Let's go, sisters."

Smiling deeply, the two sisters held Rachel's hands as they marched down the stairs and out the door as the autumn view clashed with their eyes.

The walk down the store was more than what Rachel expected. It seems people were more alive than she hoped for, and she wished her sisters had dragged her out as always. At least, they'll cause a scene as usual, and people will pave a way for them. Just the thought of that makes her want to change her mind, but the moment she lifted her face up, her breath hitched, and her heart took a different rhythm.

Her eyes shone brightly, and her legs stopped moving as she tried speaking, but no words came out.

"Are you okay, Rachel?"Angela asked with worry in her tone after seeing her sister's stance and how her lips looked they wanted to say a lot.

"Rachel... are you..." but Catherine's voice trailed off as she noticed where Racheal eyes were fixated on.

"Don't tell me you've never seen that before?" Catherine said with amusement in her eyes.

Pouting her lips and clearing her throat, Racheal finally spoke as if nonchalantly, but the excitement was noticeable in her voice. "Why is that pumpkin over there so big? I have never seen something as huge as that before. Why have we never gotten it before? Is it new? Wait... is it even real? Are you sure it wasn't even..."

Shaking her head with smiles on her lips, Angela cut Racheal's ramblings off.

"It is a giant pumpkin, and it is very real, Racheal, it is very real. Now, close your mouth and let's move. We are almost at the costume shop."

As they moved on, Racheal could not help rambling about the pumpkin and how she would love to touch it. She sounded all excited that her sisters had to pinch themselves countlessly if they were still alive, knowing how Racheal wasn't much of a good talker.

"But, you should know the first thought that crossed my mind when I first saw it. I was gobsmacked, and I think I have forgotten the thought again. Did I think about any..."

"Geez, I am glad to know you are our sister Racheal. You talk a lot just like us, and that's so perfect." Catherine added, cutting off her sister's happy rambling face.

Excusing herself, Angela picked up her phone to make a call before coming back to join her two sisters.

After some additional shopping, the trio began their journey back home.

"We got so much Angela, I think I want to be everything." Catherine said, smiling ear to ear.

"You want to be a witch, a princess, a queen, a maid, a dragon, and more. You are always getting unnecessary costumes every year." Angela added with a smile.

On getting home, Angela opened the door to let her sisters in. And, she did expect the sound that left Racheal's lip as they all went inside.

"The giant pumpkin is here! But, how did it get..."

"Mom, Dad, did you guys buy it?" Racheal continued with her face filled with smiles.

"I guess Angela was right when she said you are crazy about the giant pumpkin. I can see the happy face of my baby." Her mother said, hugging Racheal tightly.

"Well, I love the energy you are giving, baby. This Halloween will forever live in our hearts." Her father added as he hugged his wife and Racheal as Angela and Catherine joined in.

Rachel's sisters are true gems. They didn't allow her to wallow in in her introvert shell. Nice Halloween story

Rachel pleases her sisters and finds a reason to be amazed. The family love and joy of the sisters is very touching and is the main reason Rachel sets aside her temper to participate in building a beautiful family memory. Thank you for this story, @balikis95.
