We Are Not Broken, We Are Just Healing.
It can not be unseen, neither the feeling be off,
Once it comes in, it breaks off every inch,
Leaving you cracked like frankestine,
And all you can do is try to breathe it out.
I know the pain is unbearable,
I could feel the stiffness in your breath while we talked,
The silent tears in your heart are louder than you know,
And still you found a way to see a need for hope.
Like recent weather, life is confusing,
Dragging you around like you are a weightless being,
I heard your timid voice speak,
Tired and in need for a halt in your recent misery.
At first, you didn't understand what caused the hurt,
And when you did, it was hard to swallow the lump,
Inflicted by the presence of corruption,
And yet, you kept all the emotions to yourself.
You accepted defeat and saw the need to rise to continue living,
And I must commend you for that because suicide could have been an option,
But you valued those in your life to be broken to that extent,
And so, you cleaned your eyes to find people standing up for you.
And even at that moment, the trouble was not over,
The pain has been felt and the feeling is present,
Taunting you like chameleon,
And still you had the voice to speak calmly.
You never gave up on you or the future you could dream of,
Though the dreams have been faraway lately,
You still edge on with a strong heart and mind,
And with them, I know you will attain victory.
And, what made me love you more were the sweet words you said to me,
They were like honey in that was specially refined for me,
And I couldn't help repeating those words to myself,
We are not broken, we are just healing.
And with this, I intend to thank you,
For still loving when your world was hurting,
For seeing a beautiful light in a darkened world,
For not giving up on life and on us,
And for still seeing a place for your dream even when the world didn't provide one.
