Засновник відомого американського бренду Кельвін Річард Кляйн народився у листопаді 1942-го року у Бронксі (Нью-Йорк), в єврейськіій родині. Його батько Лео Кляйн був родом із Буковини, із села Бояни. Тобто з України. Деколи пишуть, що він був родом із Угорщини, і це теж в якійсь мірі правда, бо тоді Буковина належала Австро-Угорській імперії. Як і Галичина, де народилися батьки його матері Флори Штерн. Сама Флора народиласа вже в США.

The founder of the famous American brand Calvin Richard Klein was born in November 1942 in the Bronx (New York), in a Jewish family. His father, Leo Klein, was originally from Bukovyna, from the village of Boyany. That is, from Ukraine. Sometimes they say that he was originally from Hungary, and this is also true to some extent, because at that time Bukovyna belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Кельвінові Кляйну любов до мистецтва й моди прищеплювала мама. Поки інші діти грались, Кляйн у маминому товаристві вирушав на закупи. Також із дитинства він пильно спостерігав за роботою бабусі, яка була швачкою і мала своє ательє. Поступово навчившись малювати та шити, він вирішив, що хоче стати модельєром.

Calvin Klein's love for art and fashion was instilled by his mother. While the other children were playing, Klein went shopping in his mother's company. After gradually learning to draw and sew, he decided that he wanted to become a fashion designer.
