Houses, balconies, girls (16 photos)- #WednesdayWalk

You can look at your feet, you can look at the clouds in the sky ... but you can stare at the balconies ... and someday you will be lucky.

You can see real-life on the balcony. When a person sits there long enough, he gradually ceases to notice those who are down on the street. At the same time, his behavior becomes natural. For me, this is the most valuable thing in street photography.

The last time (it was Tuesday, and today is Wednesday) we finished our walk, we turned from the embankment of the Fontanka River to Lomonosovskaya Street. Here I was attracted by the walls of houses and especially the balconies and bay windows. I am not an architect and it is difficult for me to judge the features of these architectural elements and the accompanying decor. I just walked and enjoyed these forms, their rhythm, everything was very harmonious and at the same time, I understand that different styles are intertwined on this street.

This part of the street (from Fontanka to Five Corners) is relatively small, but it is full of beautiful houses. The architecture lover of the 19th and 20th centuries has something to see here. I looked mainly at the balconies. Maybe because they stood out against the walls more than anything else.

It was nice to see green courtyards in this stone jungle. Very often the central part of the city is devoid of trees and lawns. This street is a bit lucky.

I don't know why, but in architecture, I like objects with signs of destruction the most. Maybe you feel the time more sharply. This has its own aesthetics.

And here is my bonus from the walk. I got it for my attention to balconies and bay windows. Of course, I would never have noticed this girl with coffee and a smartphone if I hadn't stared at every balcony in a row.

But it's time to return to the sinful earth ... here, by the way, is also not bad. Time passed unnoticed while looking at the balconies and the girls, and we again came to the Five Corners, from which we started.
Well, those who walked to the end are clearly worthy of the treat. 😊

Old buildings have great character, balconies definitely an added attraction in being different on some of the buildings except those with the view.

Nice photography from your walk @bambuka

Maybe ... but I don't think that a stranger from the street will be invited into the house just like that :)

Hey @bambuka You know as well as I that you don't have to be an architect, or know anything about design to appreciate what you love about buildings!

After all, appreciation for everything, including architecture is all very subjective anyway and doesn't nee an expert eye to see it and like it.

And speaking of liking, I liked them all but was really impressed with photos or building rather, 5&6 down. But that's just me.

Also I think that building that are a bit weathered show their age and the stories in them, which makes them far more interesting to look at and to think about. (like my Meshamer house...LOl...)

So I enjoyed you walk through this very beautiful street and look forward to seeing more!

Can I also ask you a big favour. Can you identify these mushrooms for me- apart from the Shitake (only cause it old me on the side of the container, where as they other 3 didn't and I have no idea what they are...) https://peakd.com/hive-180569/@chocolatescorpi/the-plant-based-challenge-week-30

Good choice 5-6 :) I like them too ... like everyone else. The best part is ... there are no ugly houses on this street and each of them has its own character.
Soon I will show you one unique house with courtyards inside it. From the place of the Five Corners, we will turn to another street.
Of your Asian mushrooms, I could not identify the ones on the left in the photo. They are too disguised by the shadow. ))

I love the style and character of the buildings and those balcony shots, I guess People on them do become oblivious to those on the street who can see them

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

I think that at the beginning you pay attention to people. But after a while ... however, maybe this girl went out onto the balcony to show herself ... especially if she noticed the photographer's attention 🤣😂😅
