Near Karpovka

Kamennoostrovsky Prospect of the Petrograd side of St. Petersburg (Russia) crosses the Karpovka River. This is one of the arms of the Neva Delta. This duct connects the Bolshaya and Malaya Nevka and forms the Apothecary Island.

We stand on the Silin bridge and head forward along the avenue in search of a cafe. A walk in the fresh air kindles your appetite.

Каменноостровский проспект Петроградской стороны Санкт-Петербурга (Россия) пересекает река Карповка. Так назван один из рукавов дельты Невы. Этот проток соединяет Большую и Малую Невку и образует Аптекарский осторов.

Мы стоим на Силин мосту и направляемся вперёд по проспекту в поисках кафе. Прогулка на свежем воздухе разжигает аппетит.

One of the corners of this intersection is undergoing renovations. More precisely, part of the old buildings is demolished and the place for new construction is being cleared. When we go along the Karpovka River, I will show other similar sites. They decided to improve this area of the city. Let's see how it all ends.

*На одном из углов этого перекрёстка идут ремонтные работы. Точнее сказать сносится часть старых зданий и расчищается место под новое строительство. Когда мы пойдём вдоль реки Карповки, я покажу другие подобные площадки. Этот район города решили благоустроить. Посмотрим, чем всё это закончится.

St. Petersburg has a mixture of architectural styles. Sometimes you can find unique buildings. We did not cross the street to get a closer look. Surely there are interesting details. But there was no pedestrian crossing nearby and we were also looking for a cafe ...

Санкт-Петербург имеет смешение стилей архитектуры. Иногда можно найти уникальные здания. Мы не стали переходить улицу, чтобы рассмотреть поближе. Наверняка там есть интересные детали. Но рядом не нашлось пешеходного перехода и ещё мы искали кафе...
Физиология победила...

Cafe as a cafe, we did not look for anything special. We wanted to walk on.

Кафе как кафе, ничего особенного мы не искали. Нам хотелось гулять дальше.

This house with towers on Leo Tolstoy Square I once showed. But then it was night and everything looked different.

Этот дом с башнями на площади Льва Толстого я уже однажды показывал. Но тогда была ночь и всё выглядело по-другому.

Turning around the corner we found a funny store. They sold mostly gifts for all occasions. But on the second floor I unexpectedly found many books regarding photography. At that time, I was not ready for shopping, but I know that I’ll also look here.

Свернув за угол мы обнаружили забавный магазин. Там продавались в основном подарки на все случаи жизни. Но на втором этаже я неожиданно нашёл много книг, касающихся фотографии. В тот раз я не готов был к покупкам, но я знаю, что ещё сюда загляну.

Having walked a little forward, we again got to the embankment of the Karpovka River, but on another bridge - Petropavlovsk.

Пройдя немного вперёд мы вновь попали на набережную реки Карповки, но уже на другом мосту - Петропавловском.
