Made a dog bed for the new year!

Hey hey~~ I'm back after... idk a month of not writing?
Or drawing.. for that matter ;;~;; sorry, life just got hectic for me. First and foremost, I was deported to the mine site from december 12-16, then again on december 27-30. The only times I was in the city was because the samples got... well, overloaded XD and there was the christmas holiday too and the new year, to which, I caught the flu te day after new year. What a way to start the year, I swear.


Anyways, being sent to the mine site wasn't so bad. It gave me more topics to write about on the stem community UwU just wait til the weekends, I'm gonna put my thinking cap on again.


Going back to the main topic, For the new year, we did nothing but clean the house because we at least wanted to welcome 223 with more clarity, less clutter, and less stuff that are completely unnecesary. Previously we valued prosperity by stocking up on evrything we needed and used. We still did this, but this year, we learned to lessen material attachments. The things we don't even use were all discarded.


We also bought a lot of cloth to make new pillow cases and a few blankets and covers. This was mainly my job because I enjoy sewing as well as drawing. I didn't take photos of those, but I did take photos of the dog bed I made my dogs. Since this was the one I was most fond of making and I thought really hard on this one.


Prior to making this dog bed, I was in a dilemma of just buying one. But then I remembered the old dog bed I bought them and they never used that. Not even once because they used to sleep on my bed.


Now my dogs are seniors... and they can't really jump to reach my bed anymore so they usually sleep just next to my bed now, but not on it. And sometimes I see them shivering, even when it's fairly warm so I opted for a few thick blankets at first, but since I couldn't get them a christmas gift this year, I thought of making them a bed.

While cleaning up, we discarded a few old bed sheets that... the dogs tore up... for some reason that they thought it was fun. This was why I had so many bed sheets to make before the new year started ;;-;;


This green one was my favourite bed sheet and I thought they'd appreciate it if their bed would also smell like me.

Look at this lazy grandpa. He remembers this bedsheet and he just rolled up in it and fell asleep XD I swear, he isn't a good assistant, but he did fetch my sewing bag before he rolled up in the sheets, so okay, it was a well-deserved break.

This is the sewing proces.. somehow. I was trying to imitate this froggy looking bed with a circle in the middle, but halfway through I was already feeling kind of sick cuz I was already coughing a lot. SO in the end, I went with a simple circle cushion XD

I was still stuffing it with the old pillows we were gonna dispose of, but look at this grandpa, he was already feeling the bed and was rubbing his scent all over it. He was definitely quick to claim it XD

So I ended up making 2 of these cushions. Lucky we had a lot of pillows for disposal and the bedsheet was still big enough for another bed. So now, whenever it's bed time, they drag these cushions to my room and they sleep comfortably beside the bed, but at least they aren't so cold anymore. Next project is to make them clothes... or maybe I should just buy them colthes XD

So after January 1st, I caught the flu, and I have been stuck in bed these past few days, but today I'm well enought to move around. Hopefully tomorrow I can go back to work because my coworkers are alreaady missing me and they keep calling to check up on me.
