Rocca Sella

Hello to all!

Today I will show the same place I have described in my previous post Sacra di San Michele, but with color.

Rocca Sella is a panoramic mountain in low Susa valley, in Piedmont (Italy), on Alps.
Trek is easy, about 2 hour on a simple path inside a wood and, near the summit, on an rocky ridge.
In winter day, you can see pollution and fog on plains below.
Way starts in Celle town, and drop is about 500 meters.

First part is inside an ancient wood:

After the wood, an easy rocky ridge. Watch how strange and beautiful is this Christmas tree!

Near the summit:

On summit, a small chapel dedicated to Holy Mary. Inside it, many ex-voto and prayers of visitors, asking a grace, or leaving messages to thanks Madonna:

Landscape from summit was stunning and magic!

Here Monviso:

And Mount Rocciamelone:

And Susa valley. In foreground Sacra di San Michele, built on the top of mount Pirchiriano, built between X and XI century. Legend says that Giovanni Vincenzo, the archbishop of Ravenna, saw in vision Saint Michael archangel, who ordered him to build a sanctuary. Angels would have consecrated the chapel, which at night was seen by people as enveloped by a huge fire.
Some spiritual energy is there.

On the way back, first sign of incoming spring:

And, in the distance, Rocca Sella summit with its chapel:
