Seljalandsfoss - Iceland

Hello to all,

today I'll take you next to and inside one of the best waterfall of Iceland, along the so called 'Ring Road'.
It is one of the most visited and photographed of the world, and it is famous also because of you can walk behind the waterfall.
The name 'Seljalandsfoss' means 'liquid waterfall'. It is created by Seljalandsá river, which means 'liquid river'.

This place is amazing, I have seen many pictures of Iceland before this travel, but being there I can say every place is most beautiful of I could ever imagine.
A little thought about photography: this place has been photographed by thousands of people, many of them professional photogrphers, so my pictures are not so special. I think the best pictures a photographer can do are the pictures of the place where he/she lives, because of he/she can choose the best light and best condition, and can transform in an amazing place every place, even the less famous.

We started the day at Landmannalaugar camping.

After breakfast and packing the stuff, I noticed a woman dancing in front of colorful volcanic mountains. She gave to me a peaceful and harmony feeling, I felt in touch with the natural word.

Here we were approcching to Seljalandsfoss (foss means waterfall in Icelandic language):

And here Seljalandsfoss in all its majesty:

A walk behind the waterfall. I was very wet and it was a bit cold, but my first worry was to keep camera dry (not possible ah ah).

The green was so bright!

Not so faraway from the main waterfall, there is a narrow canyon which leads to a river falling from an hole of the rocky ceiling:

Every moment of my life worked to take me next to this white strip, where earth joins sky.

Legends tell that on the base of this waterfall, the richest man of Iceland, many years ago, has buried a big treasure. Many people have looked for it, but they have just found only a big handle of a box, that is now exposed in the main museum of the nearby city.

Back again to the main waterfall:

Here some masked characters during a photographic set:

There was a track to reach the upper side. The view was amazing.
The colorful ridge covered by green moss, the cold breeze and the constant rumble of the water, and some seagulls flying around, made me going away in an imaginary world, where only natural rules were present.

We are creature over the abyss, flying through the mystery of our mind:

All the rumble faded down a calm stream of water, towards the ocean:

Here the exact position of this place:

Thanks for reading, I hope I've made you wish to take a clothed bath under this waterfall! :-) To recreate the union between spirit and flesh, dreams and body.
