Wildpark Eekholt

In october 2018 I spent some days in Germany, in Bad Bramstedt, a small town in north of the country, near Hamburg.

Next to the city, there is a wonderful wildpark, plenty of animals, from small ones like ants or bees, as well as birds, martens, wolves, deer.

A day of november, there was special dark-and-eerie festival, dedicated to bonfire, witches, ancient traditional jobs, owls, with amazing colorful effects and sound. The wood became a magic place, where you can walk around trees meeting gnomes, elves and other nocturnal creatures.

Here a light dancer, you should imagine her moving around following Enya music notes:

Finality of the park, founded in 1970, is to show the ecological dependence between plants, animals and humans.
Here an herd of curios wolves, not scared by this nightly human activities:

A wolf like a keeper of the mistery of the wood:

As I said, you can walk around the park, meeting people covered by light, with owls on hands or shoulder. All around, red, green blue light make the atmosphere surreal, not material. We were connecting with spirits.

Absences and presences....

Jugglers playing with fire:

Ancient craftsmen working iron:

People cooking and eating marshmallow with and around the fire.
Fire permitted to stay in touch with our inner and lost nature, like
prehistoric people, together in front of the mistery of nature...
