Monochrome photo for every day my personal photo challenge - 01/14/2024 - Issue - No.125+ a modest competition for everyone who wants to share a monochrome photograph.

I don’t know who and when first said that we should never rush to evaluate what we see but this is a very wise saying, which can only be understood by living a life full of some sharp changes ups and downs.

I think that many of you have met people who arrogantly look around them and seeing something that in their opinion is poverty spit in that direction and give it a rating below the baseboard.

But just as they measure everything life can weigh them measure them and recognize them as unsuitable and their assessment becomes completely incorrect because the wrong variable and measurement scale were chosen for it.

For me this is a challenge, but for you, it can be a simple and easy read, or it can become a competition which you can read about below.

Several years ago I walked past this dilapidated house and took some photographs.

It was difficult for me to imagine that a person lives in such conditions but since I do not know the situation of the owner of the house I did not think about why and how it happened that the house was dilapidated, although a feeling of compassion was present.

But the main reason for my stop was just to photograph this textured structure that stood out from the general row of houses.

A few years later having seen the war and the fact that a huge number of people had completely lost their homes and land, only ruins remained there I look at this dilapidated house differently.

Its roof is to some extent intact and its owner does not need to travel around the world trying to hide from the rain and holes in the walls can be plugged with something during winter frosts.

The thoughts of arrogant people now near this house, are turning into the ending of the fairy tale “The Cat’s House”... you remember the fairy tale about how the cat did not let stray kittens into the threshold of her house but then when the cat’s house burned down the kittens sheltered the cat who had no roof over her head.
