Travel the World of Postage Stamps - Cactus - Pereskia cubensis - Cuba 1978 - Michel Cuba 2298 - my hobby
Greetings friends!
There is an old saying that even a mop that is used to clean the floor can, one day, shoot like a cannon.
I often say that postage stamps with images of animals and plants are excellent reference books that will allow us to accurately determine the type of object that we will see in the wild, but. sometimes this is not true.
On a postage stamp with a face value of 13 Cuban centavos from the Cactus series of postage stamps, issued in 1978, we see the cactus Pereskia cubensis.
To be honest, looking at this postage stamp, if they do not pay attention to the inscription, which indicates to us the species to which this plant belongs, I would say that it is some kind of rose.
The body of this cactus, in the image, does not at all look like a cactus.
In my understanding, the cactus should look similar to this photo taken by me in a gift shop.
A hedgehog should look like a hedgehog, and a mouse shouldn't look like an owl, but all this logic collapses about the realities of our life, lol.
Let's take a look at this postage stamp.

For my publications, I do not use stock photographs, it is fundamentally important for me to use photographs that I have made with my own hands for publication and I can name them - authorial work.
