Travel the World of Postage Stamps - Cars - Benz, 1885 - Cuba 1984 - Michel Cuba 2906
Greetings friends!
Postage stamp owners philatelists, if desired, may find themselves in three projections of time and space at once. To do this, it is enough for them to pick up, or simply look at a postage stamp from their own collection.
Each postage stamp is a particle of this minute, time and country, when and where the postage stamp was issued, and also, we can be transported to the time and place that the postage stamp tells us about.
Do you doubt?
Look at this winter crossroads where a certain number of cars have accumulated.
These are cars of the last few years, which hide drivers and passengers in comfort and coziness. They do not feel the cold, being heated by air conditioners, climate control systems and electric heaters installed in the car.
We do not see their faces and moods. they hid from prying eyes behind tinted windows. and, only the light of a turn signal can point us to the direction of their thought.
But there was a time when a winter crossroads might have looked different.
A proud, self-confident, but very cold gentleman in a top hat sits on a three-wheeled horse, blown by all the winds.
Icicles hang from his mustache and beard, and his hands squeeze the cold steel of the handle, which at that time replaced the round steering wheel of a car familiar to us.
This is how the intersection would have looked where, in 1855, we could see the world's first car with a single-cylinder, four-stroke internal combustion engine Benz Patent-Motorwagen.
Thanks to this car and its creator, Karl Benz, today we see cars on the roads that have evolved from this three-wheeled dinosaur of the automotive industry.
A 20 Cuban centavo postage stamp from the "Cars" series of postage stamps issued on the island of Cuba in 1984 shows us this Adam of the automobile industry of the planet Earth called - Benz, 1885, but it should be written - Benz Patent-Motorwagen.
