First Experiment with ASCII Art | The Spider 🕷️
A while ago, I accidentally came across a piece of art with a very unique look. Although I completely forgot where I first saw it, the visual instantly caught my attention. It looked neat, minimalist, and elegant. There was a unique satisfaction in just looking at it, something I had never seen before.
That curiosity led me to look into it further. From there, I learned that this visual style is called ASCII Art, which is an art form composed of interconnected symbols and text characters.
Intrigued, I decided to learn how to make it myself. The image below is the result of my very first attempt.
To create it, I used the help of ASCII Art Archive, a site that converts regular images into ASCII text arrangements. The basic process is quite simple, you just need to upload the desired image to the generator site, wait for the ASCII text to generate, and then copy the character arrangement.
For this project, I used a spider and its web as the main subject, and later added a few text elements that were also converted into the ASCII format.
Once the basic image of the spider and its web was generated, I copied it into Adobe Photoshop for further editing.
In Photoshop, I changed the color to a vivid red that glows against the dark background, adding a subtle glow effect to make the image look brighter and stand out even more. Making this piece was so much fun, and I plan to explore the website further to see what else I can create.
