Happy Birthday To Me - And Sweet 5oz Pony Express Bars

IMG_1852.jpeg

Yeah That’s Me ..

BDMiller all pudgy and happy .. And definitely way before I became a silver stacker, artist, photographer, poet, writer, husband… And the list goes on and on.

IMG_1852.jpeg

My mother sent me this picture in my most recent birthday card. I just celebrated my 49th birthday this past weekend, and I tried to keep it under wraps for the most part. The older I get the less I like any kind of fuss over my birthday. I have a big milestone birthday coming next year, and I’d rather it just pass by without any fuss. I’m not one for big parties and definitely not for the attention. The picture of me was taken a few months after being born, and just after my baptism. I think it’s important part of my life that I’ve kept my faith throughout the years and it’s something I can rely on day in and day out, regardless of what life throws at me.

More About The Silver..

Enough about me and my birthday… I already said, I don’t like a lot of fuss. So I thought I would include some silver I bought not too long ago. It’s not fancy silver, but rather what we call adding weight to the stack.

IMG_1853.jpeg

5 ounce SilverTowne Pony Express bars .. The are perfect for someone looking to add weight to their stacking investment. Although they are far from fancy, they still have a nice flare to them. What attracted me to these bars was the brushed look to their front surface and their chunky style. When you hold them in your hand, they have a nice weight to them and heavy feel. I don’t even mind the stamped design on the front because it’s not overwhelming or large, and doesn’t take away from the overall feel of the bar.

IMG_1855.jpeg

There’s no sharp edges on these .. And hardly any smooth shiny surfaces, except for maybe a couple spots on the back of the bar. Like I said, it’s a rough pour, and they are more for stacking than they are for glitz and glamour.

IMG_1856.jpeg

IMG_1858.jpeg

When you tilt the bar on its side, you can see that it’s not a perfectly poured bar. There’s some unevenness to it and chunkiness to it that to me is desirable.

IMG_1857.jpeg

I can include the link below, where they can be purchased. I purchased mine directly from JM bullion. Right now I think they’re running somewhere between $140 and $145 depending on how you pay. Obviously, there’s free shipping over a certain threshold. I believe I’ve seen them on eBay as low as $142 or $143 free shipping. That might be an option if you’re looking not to spend an arm of leg to get free shipping.

IMG_1859.jpeg

Mine were shipped in these individual Ziploc bags. That’s all you need. And really, you don’t have to store them in there unless you really want to. Like I said they are made for adding to the stack rather than worrying about their mint state for collectible resale later down the road.

IMG_1854.jpeg

When I purchased these, I picked up 30 ounces worth, or six bars, but I plan on picking up more in the near future. I like them that much!

Definitely more than I like. Anyone fussing over my birthday. Lol.

Thanks for the birthday card and the picture Mom and Dad!

Happy Birthday! I'm a big fan of poured bars, those are awesome for the "core weight stack"

Yeah they’re awesome. They fit the stacking bill well, and also give me that feel of something unique. They really did beat my expectation. I wasn’t expecting them to be as cool as they were but I realized they were awesome once they arrived, and they were in my hands. A good feel to them.

Thank you for the birthday wishes!

Dang, those are really awesome. I like the look of them as well. The local place here has bars for sale as well. I should check them out sometime.

I really think Mrs. Bozz is not gonna like it when she found out you’ve been wanting to stack so much. Lol. I do believe you’ve caught silver fever. He hee hee. It’s easy once you get your hands on a few pieces. Especially when you find something you really like. I don’t know but I’ve definitely hedged a decent amount into precious metals. It’s always good to have on hand in case our Banks collapse, and the fiat system goes to crap. Not quite sure it will happen in our lifetime but either way I enjoy collecting. Gives me something to do and something to talk about. That’s for sure. You’ll have to check out the bars for sure. I think the standard commercial bar is a little bit blah blah but the poured bars are really cool. Unfortunately, the premium for a poured bar is typically a bit more than your standard bar.

It turns out we have a pretty famous pourer close to where I live, so I am going to have to check that out for sure. I mentioned him in one of my posts and like half the silver gold stacking community was oh yeah, I know that guy! I likely won't buy too much more silver until the holiday's again. Unless something I just have to have comes around. Jovi has her appointment on Monday and I know that is going to be close to a grand if not more, so we are kind of in a spending freeze right now (besides the treadmill).

I hear ya.. We had quite the expensive dog ourselves. They mean so much to us and I know I would probably spend just about an infinite amount on my pups.. but at some point it hurts the wallet and you feel it and question it. I am hoping the news on Jovi is good or at least you get some sort of answer so you know what to expect. Best wishes with that. I will be thinking of you guys. Save your money. Price of silver is a slow riser as much as I would like to think it's not. lol

Thanks, I appreciate that. We definitely will spend whatever it takes. We just need to be more prudent in some other areas. We are hoping this will give our local vet a plan for care.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, my friend @bdmillergallery !!! Your birthday is the perfect time to recognize all your wonderful qualities, including the fact that you’re older than me!

Wait.. WHAT!? I'm older??? Can't be true.. I thought I was still the baby in that photo. lol. I'm 49 but feel 40 if that's any consolation. My stack is definitely growing. Little by little. I only get a coffee out twice per month now and take what I would have spent on that and buy silver. 😁

I can imagine you Stacking them, then unstacking them, stack them into another shape, unstack them again, line them up, make a pyramid, unstack them again, restack them into a tower, unstack them into a circle, go to your computer and order another six bars... Repeat... think about another Hive post... stack another pyramid...

Happy birthday! I’ve never done much for any of my birthdays, not even landmark ones. Winter birthdays are harder, at least for a gardener type person.

Thank you! They are harder for us cold month babies. That's okay though.. they can just pass by without notice in my opinion. lol

Hope you enjoyed a quiet celebration, much like you we don't enjoy big fan fair, a simple get together with close family is more than enough to make a party happen.

Solid silver bars looks good quietly adding to the stack as and when able to afford, have a bright and happy year ahead!

I did. Just my wife and I and a friend. Your right.. sometimes family can throw a big enough party as it is. I really love these bars. They are a perfect addition to the stack and feel great when I hold them. I am hoping they naturally tone a little.. that would be cool.
