Hello Dear Travelers,
This is Alysha back again with an exciting travel blog which was completed last month. Last month, I went to Matarbari, which belongs to Cox's Bazar district. Let's start.

As I live in Dhaka, I left Dhaka at 11 pm and I went to the sleeping coach by bus. During the journey, a break is given at Cumilla for midnight meals. Then we reached Chakaria at 6 a.m in the next morning. It is located on the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway. From there, we reached Matarbari by car. On the way, we passed through hilly roads, and it looks so amazing and surrounded by greenery. Matarbari area is an area with small hills. The roads in this region are made by cutting the hills. We stayed there in the staff quarters. There was enough food and facilities for us to stay here.

  • MATARBARI POWER PLANT
Matarbari Power Plant and Port is one of the scenic spots here. It had been raining heavily since the day we visited, and we knew from TV and various news media that Cyclone Midhili was going to hit. A wonderful atmosphere was created. Matarbari Coal Power Plant is located in Maheshkhali Upazila. It will generate 1200 MW of electricity when its construction is complete. It is being built with $2.4 billion in financing from Japan. There are residences, restaurants, sports zones (built for various domestic and foreign companies), helipads, and chimneys that generate electricity through coal. Besides, this area is surrounded by high security.

  • MATARBARI DEEP PORT
Another highlight here is the Matarbari Port, which is going to facilitate the connectivity of the region to the rest of the world. It has not yet been commercially launched. Due to Cyclone Midhili, the area was inundated, as this area is located on the seashore. Besides, there is the Matamuhuri River very close to it, which makes the beauty of this place incredibly beautiful.
Matarbari Sea Port was originally built for the Matarbari Coal power plant. But later the government took the initiative to make it a deep sea port. The channel is 3 km deep and 250m wide and 15m deep.

  • MATARBARI SEA BEACH
There are two beaches, one called North Beach and the other called South Beach. A beautiful afternoon can be spent here. Because it is less crowded than other beaches. Although it is a very rural area, there are many supermarkets here. It is possible to buy domestic and foreign goods easily. I never thought I could find rare things here so easily.

Cyclone Mithili caused a power outage in the entire area except the power plant area. At that time, the electric wire was broken due to the tree. After 2 days of power cuts, power supply is normal in Maheshkhali. Being a subtropical area, the impact was greater here. Besides, fishing was stopped at this time.

Besides, there are common people living nearby who are outside this area. Their main occupation is salt and shrimp farming. People here earn their living by fishing in addition to salt and shrimp farming. They collect various sea fish, dry them, and sell them in the market. Maheshkhali is very famous for betel leaves. Most of the betel leaves in Bangladesh are harvested from Maheshkhali.

As rural as it may be, just a look at the coal power area makes it seem like a city with a touch of modernity.
I stayed there for 4 days. And this place really impressed me. The incredible development and beauty of the place have impressed me every time. Besides, modern facilities have also made my work easier. Although the road communication system here is not so good, new road work is going on that will facilitate the communication of Matarbari with the whole of Bangladesh.

  • Today's Quote
City life is hectic and that's why maybe I am so fond of nature. I know there is another way to deal with sadness, frustration, and depression but I choose to follow nature. There are so many people following other ways to deal with the problems of their life. I have huge respect for those who are dealing with their problems alone and managing their life. It is not easy to survive in this cruel world.

Hi @be-alysha,
Great to see you using the #travelfeed tag! We launched the #travelfeed curated tag more than 5 years ago and have been supporting the best travel blogs on Hive ever since. But did you know that TravelFeed has evolved? Based on the feedback of thousands of Hive travel bloggers we created TravelFeed.com.

TravelFeed.com brings together all the benefits of Hive decentralized blogging with features that you as a travel blogger will love: Photo galleries, Instagram embeds, custom maps, automated adding to Pinmapple and more. We also offer many of the features you love on Peakd such as drafts and post scheduling. And if you want, you can even use our easy site builder to set up your own travel blog on your own domain which can be a great way to generate a passive income from your blog!

Unfortunately, focussing on developing the best platform for travelers means that we no longer curate the #travelfeed tag. But, you can log in with your Hive account on TravelFeed.com to publish your next travel post, and it will be posted to Hive automatically! Every day, we select the best posts and reward them with an upvote and added visibility.
