The True Meaning of Frugalism

People rave about being frugal here and there, while they are in effect being being stingy, or even wasteful, just to appear frugal in the eyes of people while not practicing it in any way.

Being frugal is a way of life, almost like a religion, we don't just tell it, we act it, we show it, and we live it.

Being frugal is about making the best use of one's resources, and in essence creating more value of it. It doesn't necessarily suggest minimizing cost, it means spending on what really matters, being extremely careful and calculative with one's financial resources.

Cost minimization could be an outcome of frugalism, but isn't necessarily the primary aim. Frugalism is vested in value.

Being frugal doesn't mean you should be cheap (that's being stingy). A frugal person would rather spend a 100USD or a piece of original equipment that spend 70USD on a rather inferior one (which would last only about a few months and have him/her replace that equipment again with another 70 bucks).

So, "what and were brings in the most value?" That's a question frugal individuals always brainstorm.

By being frugal, you can make sure of the most important things in life, while as a consequence:

  • Save some money
  • Be a role model
  • Reach your financial goals
  • Be at peace with yourself
  • Be more content and grateful
  • Live a more sustainable life
  • Be a backbone for others around you!

So, be frugal, and not stingy!

Hehe...

If I could make a small request? My name is Jason or Jay. Or perhaps Tergan. I'm not a formal kind of guy "Sir" makes me a little uncomfortable.

But if you are more comfortable with Sir, I'll take it as long as you keep posting 😉

Y0ur welcome. Later today I'll be posting about this community and how to share rewards. I don't have enough curation power to make posting here worthwhile but I do have a budget set aside for tips/gifts to regular users. I'd really appreciate your input on how to distribute my budget among community members.
