How to deal with Traumatic attack.

Hello everyone welcome to my blog.

One faithful Sunday morning by 2:am armed robbers bagged into our compound and robbed each flat, after the incident i was in truma for a very long time, i wake up every 2:am scared of what will happen next, i lived with this fear for years and it wasn't an easy situation to deal with.

One early morning i was going to work and i was a victim of arm robbers who robbed me inside the car, till today i have been in truma and has refused to enter any vehicle that i don't really know or i don't often see.

Another scene is a young girl who was molested at the age of 12 by his uncle, she lived with such fear for so many years.
A school girl in her teenage age was playing with her best friend only to see her electricuted all of a sudden, this Traumatic memory lives with her.

All this and many more are trumatic events that can happen in ones life and most time when this fear is overlooked it can affect the persons personality, her socialization and intergerity.

Is a normal thing to have fear of a particular incident because it will help to build more security in ones daily activity but excessive of such fear can be harmful.

Some people who suffer from such Traumatic left untreated develop hypertension or cardiovascular disease and cardiac failure.

Tips to deal Traumatic fear

During my experience with Traumatic fear after a long time and the fear didn't stop i decided to visit a doctor who now directed me to a therapist.
The most important step to take after any Traumatic event is to accept reality which is that such thing has happened, and its not a reoccurrant event that must happen everyday of ones life.
Secondly, it is very important to share whatever happens to someone, never keep it to yourself because that will build more fear in you.

Thirdly, try to work as a team so that there will be increase in communication and you will spend more time with people and never be alone, if this fear comes at night try and stay with a family member at night or a close friend as this will decrease the chance of getting scared.
Take much time to create a safe environment like adding more keys to your door, changing your mood of transportation and any other thing you can do just to feel secured
Fourthly make sure you are not exaggerating, get a complete and correct information about the incident because exaggerating can make the matter worse but accurate information will help you and the therapist know how to deal with the matter and overcome such fear.

It also very important that you reduce watching TV channels that feature violence or terrorist attacks because this also make it difficult for such fear to stop.
After all this therapy and this fear continues it is now very important that such person seeks medical attention from a proper hospital.
Proper diagnosis will be done by the doctor and physical examination will be carried out access more causes of such fear and what sort of treatment should be carried out.

The doctor may introduce antidepressants and Anti-anxiety medications which will assist in handling the anxiety and depression, the doctor might also introduce the patient to Prazosin which will help the patient deal with nightmares and improve the patient sleep.

Therapy does a lot of work in Traumatic fear, that is why even the doctor will still do more of therapy like treatment for such patient.

The doctor may introduce Cognitive therapy to help the patient improve the way the patient thinks, helping the patient to see the importance of occupying his mind with other things more than the the trumatic event, the doctor will also help the patient understand why it is very important to think positively at all time.
The doctor may also introduce Exposure therapy, this helps the patient to see herself in the same Traumatic situation so as to know how to cope if such situation reoccur in the patient life.

During my time of Traumatic fear i never wanted to talk about it, but my doctor encouraged me to talk more about it and i noticed that the more i talk about it, the better i become.
It wasn't and easy situation but with the help of my therapist and my doctor i was able to overcome it.
