My favourite fun spots..... Weekly-engagement #42
Greetings everyone!
Unwinding is the thought that comes to mind after a stressful work day or week. Work is good but "all work and no play makes jack a dull boy". I fancy this cliche because it carries a sound ring of truth to it, after all there is time for everything....a time to work and a time to relax.
When I want to unwind from a stressful week, which usually is during the weekend because of the nature of my job, I get away to either a park, a garden or the beach.
All three mentioned places are outdoor settings. I love the outdoors, it gives me a sense of oneness with nature. I also get to enjoy nature's pleasing view that calms the mind and soothes the soul.
Out of all three places mentioned, I kinda prefer the beach more because of the alluring scenery of the ocean. The ocean is so lovely to behold and despite my fear of the water, I'm quite drawn to it, time and time again.....just like Moana😁.
The park and garden are also good relaxation spots but I'm usually weary of going there at certain times and season of the year. Most parks in my country are not regularly and properly maintained, this gives rise to various harmful organisms habiting those areas.
Sometimes I plan a picnic with my friends but most of the time, I go solo. My wanting to relax and unleash the stress accumulated over the week, works best when I am alone either meditating about life, the future, reading a book or simply putting my thoughts on paper (my diary).
I enjoy having space to myself so that I can be focused on evaluating myself and seeking solutions plus a way forward. Being with friends when I want to unwind is also good as I can vent my pent up frustrations, share my burdens and also have fun.
I love the outdoors, the cool breeze that sweeps up my clothes and hair, the vast blue skies and a golden sun that seems to smile down on the earth, the lively chirping of insects and birds and sometimes if I'm lucky, I get to see a bird couple expressing love through their courtship behaviour... it's fascinating.
Working to make ends meet and generate income is very good but finding time to relax the tensed up muscles and brain cells is so refreshing and very very good for the body, mind and soul.
Thank you all for reading.
Alright, we see you our HiveGhana Moana.
The beach is really a therapeutic place to be indeed. It looks like all the three places you said are nature related. Truly, nothing beats the kind of relief nature brings.
Absolutely nothing.
😂😂 Hiveghana Moana....nice
Thank you
Yeah I think I can really relate with the bird couple
I have a thousand of gist from couple birds, don’t worry I’ll tell you oneday but it’s really therapeutic being around nature
It just has a way resetting life
That's a true fact and I look forward to the bird tales soon.
Thank you for your time here
You’re welcome
I guess we both love the same thing but I prefer the park because it’s more relaxing and you said they don’t take care of parks. Have you been to Abuja millienium park. Check my post and you would see the park. One of the most beautiful place to be, also the beach is always crowded
The beach is crowded only during festivals. At other times, it can be quite scanty.
Thank you for your feedback
Hmmm this feedback is new to me, maybe I’ll visit the beach some other time
Yes please do
The beach is a cool place to relax and unwind but you I'm scared of gong inside it, I'll just stay by the side and watch other.
Yes, that's what I do too. I don't dare the water at all.
Thanks sis
I've read a lot and nobody said they like to hang around church hall for relaxation.
