What to prioritize......loh 178

Pleasant greetings everyone, welcome to a new week!

Family has been defined to be a group of people related by blood, marriage or adoption. The key word here is relationship. Members of s family are connected by a bond that cannot be easily broken.

There's even a saying that blood is thicker than water connoting the importance of family ties.

Members of a family are nutured and raised to care for one another. No one seeks his own when it pertains to the family matters and as a woman, the onus falls more on us due to our very innate nature to care and sacrifice selflessly.

From a tender age, I watched my parents take care of our little family. They made sure that we had all we needed to be comfortable. My mom left her job in a pharmaceutical company and opened a provision shop, just to be around us, when my dad's job was time consuming. I guess their efforts made a huge impact in my life because after the death of my mum, I stepped up to fill her big shoes and I can firmly say that it has not been easy but God always makes a way.

I work very hard to earn income to make sure that I can provide for the needs of my daughter and siblings, whenever it arises. My monthly budget barely contains things for myself or my personal effects,rather it contains things that the family would require. I meet the needs of my family first before going ahead to attend to my needs, that is what family comes first means.

I cannot remember the last time I bought a complete set of beauty products for myself alone, it has always been for the whole family. I also can recall that it's been quite a while I visited the spa, sometimes I am so engrossed in family affairs that there is no time to visit the hair salon, thank God for wigs, hehe.

Even when someone gifts me money, the first thing that comes to my mind is, what needs to be bought for the home? By the time I am done with catering for the home, there is little to nothing left for myself.

When any member of my family is in need, distress or pain, I feel their need, pain and distress in five folds and I do my very best, even beyond, to help them come out of their issue. I pray for my family members more than I pray for myself.

I am ever available for my family to spend time with them. I teach at the same school that my daughter attends, just to be close to her and give whatever assistance I can. Many times, I have declined good job offers that would keep me away from my family simply because I want to be there for them. Simply put, my family is everything to me.

I don't mind what happens to me but no harm should befall any member of my family. "You want to see me go gaga?, Just try to harm my family and you'll surely see". They mean the world to me.

It always gives me joy to do all I can for my family and I never regret doing so for even a second. I guess I've been wired that way, to answer the call to nurture.
