How much time I have left in this world?

When my thoughts lead me to emotional states that aren't happening, I put my faith in Almighty God.

I put everything in the hands of my God, because I do not have absolute control over anything.

I also remember so many people that I love and miss and it is exciting to think of going back to God's presence and reuniting with them. Eventually, we are all here temporarily. Understanding this allows me to focus on the here and now. 🙏

I have come to understand that my feelings are normal. Is human.

Hello community! @writingclub, let me tell you, with the proximity of easter and with my 75th birthday recently, although grateful and I think this is universal, I can't help but wonder how much time I have left in this world?

With my 75 years, it is very difficult not to think about death every day, especially now that I am going to be a great-grandmother, I want time, energy and health to enjoy my family.

Sometimes I get very depressed because my daughters have become independent and I don't see them as often as I would like, I am Latina and we Latinos like family. For my grandchildren who are my greatest joy and love, they are also adults who are making their lives and it is inevitable to think "I am going to be alone".

I also have wear and tear on one leg that causes me great pain and prevents me from getting around fluidly.

When I told this to my oldest daughter, she said something that struck me: "Mom, you're not dying, you're forgetting to live". And it is true!

That afternoon I called a girl who did my hair and nails and today I will have all my family at home to celebrate the first month of life of my great-grandchild, what a blessing!

Photos taken by me.

Thank you 💕

Blessings to you and your family! I read you words and believe I understand. But don't forget, you have a community here on Hive as wee, so you're never truly alone. :)

Have you read the book: Life After Life by Dr. Raymond Moody? In it, he shares stories of people who have been to the other side and came back to tell the world of what they saw. I read it as a teen and it really helped ease my fear of passing. It's a book I think everyone should read to ease their minds.

You're also alive at a time when many wonderous discoveries are made to help extend our lives allowing us to be even more productive in our golden years. So hold fast to your faith and live each day to the fullest!

It sounds like you've raised your children and grandchildren to be their own independent individuals, and even though it's been done so many times, that's the toughest and most dedicated job there is. And your daughters are still there to talk to you, even though it may not be as often as you'd like.

It's good that you followed your daughter's advice and managed to treat yourself in a way - it's that time of life when you have more than earned the right to rest and live as you please, and then found your way back to see the life that sprouted from you - yet another generation, a great-grandchild who feels your love and warmth.

That little soul knows your presence, and even if you're not physically present with your family, your soul is there with them, and they definitely think about you and talk about you. So you're never truly alone.

And in those times you do feel alone - and it's an inevitable feeling for all of us - remember that you have people to whom you can talk right here. It's a world full of people who sometimes feel alone, but at least we can feel alone together, in good company. 😊

Hi thank you for your kinds words. I guess it's human nature to ask ourselves this question when we reach certain age. Thank you, yes I'm proud of my daughters.

It most certainly is! The questions start quite young for some of us, but it's understandable that creeps up to you with an even stronger passion as you get older. It's a part of all of us, and I'm glad that you chose the words to express it to us in ways that others might not be able to do. 😊

Even when young, the thought of dying lurks in once and a while :) The good thing is that you are putting your faith in God and then you focus on the here and now.

And please allow me to congratulate you on becoming a great-grandmother. To me, that's a milestone which not many people get to reach or experience. Take care and I wish you the best of health to enjoy more of your time with your great grand kids.
