Splinterlands – We're overdosing with potions, I'm angry but I still keep on drinking

Potions bring magic to the Splinterlands and the cards opening and loot chests have greater chances to bring you extraordinary rewards. That is true, but with the latest game changes that those will not apply anymore when opening loot chests, just keep on gathering and stacking over and over. While before I would get to use them, now they are staking up with hundreds and hundreds.

There needs to be some economics to the potions, either to limit them or just add more features on top like burning them, transferring, leveling up for greater chances or someway to use and deplete them. You cannot have an asset that is of no use in the end or to which the proportion even with the cards is exponential. It needs to have some equilibrium and pump some value into it, otherwise the players will see them as trash or dust.

Potion purposes could be enhanced to boost up some powers of the monsters as well when used in battles. This way someone could have for a limited time extra powers derived from the potions and that would make them more valuable. At the same time it would add also another layer of surprise and strategy into the game and you could confront your enemies with more trust and vengeance.

I know that the game calibrates in time based on the statistics and dynamics from the game, but it is clear for me that potions bring so little value in the game at the moment and just make people angry when they see them. It is like we are overdosing day after day when opening loot chests with them and sometimes you see all the rewards as potions and you feel helpless. Something needs to be done to treat this and have a healthier game.

Come join the good fight and drink all your potions to boost your powers!

I could also imagine to tokenize the potions and make the tradable on the market.

Thanks for sharing! - @ashikstd

Hey mate.
You've expressed your opinion about potions which I think is fantastic.
I'm also confused about the time when I'll have many potions but no booster packs to open.
I wish some of your opinions/suggestions comes true.

Cheers.
