Cheap gold foils can dramatically boost your collection power

Collection power will always be an issue in Splinterlands, particularly if your aim is to climb up the ranks. This is particularly the case for individuals who have a competitive deck but don't quite meet up the specific collection power requirement to compete at a certain level.

One of the fastest ways to increase your collection power is by adding legendary gold foils to your deck. Obviously, not all gold foils will be used in battle but at the same time, they will add upwards of 12500 to your collection power.

In recent times, I've been looking at adding gold foils to my collection but not necessarily to boost my collection power. In fact, at the time of writing, I'm actually in a good place with my collection power and can compete favourably in the league that I'm currently in.

In any case, I have still been adding certain monsters to my deck through opening gems and direct purchases off the market. I got some decent monsters that upgraded my ranked battle proficiency in the gems I opened but none of them were gold foil legendaries.

After opening 50 Rift Watcher gems today, I added $196 worth of assets to my collection at the current market condition. That only amounted to a little bit more than 20K worth of collection power to my deck.

Now obviously, a gold foil legendary would have easily skewed the collection power to my favour but we all know that GFLs don't come by that easy. So, at the end of the day, I got a couple of normal foil legendaries and epics, while also getting the benefit of a few gold foils rares and commons.

Now, while my deck's battling proficiency definitely improved, I didn't make giant strides in the collection power department. In fact, all things considered, I could spend a lot less cash to actually increase my collection power in multiple folds.

The market

So one of the things that I've been doing lately is delving into the Splinterlands market to sweep the floor of some of the cheaper gold foils in the game. This approach actually leads to a dramatic rise in your collection power at minimal cost.

By buying the cheapest gold foils, I can easily boost my collection power while also adding assets that could potentially see their values rise in the coming months.

Obviously, it is a bit of a risk since I'll be spending a small amount of funds to do it but overall, if the plan is to boost your collection power, it is the cheapest route.

For example, I recently added one Gold Foil Harklaw, Djin Bilkja and four Djin Rennova to my deck. The total expenditure was $62.94 and that added an astonishing 35000 to my total collection power.

All it took was a strategic purchase of two legendaries and four epic gold foils to boost my collection power by 35k. All I'm saying is that this is a lot cheaper than growing your collection power through normal foils.

The best part is that these monsters are still yours to keep, so you can do whatever you like with them. Also, keep in mind that gold foils also improve the value of rewards that you receive from participating in ranked battles.

So the moral of the story is that if you're looking to improve your collection power, then you should consider adding some cheap gold foils to your collection. On top of boosting your CP, these assets could be a lot more valuable in the future.
