Collection Power, Rentals and New Summoners

I've moved pieces around quite a lot this season due to selling off a number of assets and then renting them back. In recent times, the rental market has been failing me as a number of assets are randomly taken away from me by the person renting them to me.

I have to say that it is very annoying when people just randomly pull out assets that are for rent but I also understand that people have the right to access their stuff. I know there's a DEC penalty for pulling out your asset too early but it is still very annoying.

Summoners have been in short supply for my deck, so I actually brought in a couple of them. However, the individuals renting them out keep pulling them out without any warning, and this made me reconsider my position.

Fortunately for me, in the past couple of days, I opened over 100 Rift Watcher Gems and even did a small experiment that I evaluated the value I derived from opening 50 packs.

Anyway, I got my hands on a decent number of epic summoners in this collection. So, I've been slowly upgrading my collection, and so far so good, I think I'm in a much better position.

More summoners

In the past 24 hours, I have seen my personal collection of summoners improve quite dramatically. From renting every single splinter of summoner, now I currently own level 3 of each of the Fire, Earth and Life Rift Watcher Gems summoners.

As you might already know, these are epic summoners, so at level 3, they're basically maxed out for Silver league where I predominantly like to brawl.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with my additions, even though they came at a personal cost. I technically incurred some loss with this decision since I'm paying for them with a very undervalued DEC but I take refuge in the fact that in the long run, these assets will perform a lot better than DEC.

Other than summoners, I upgraded a select list of cheap epic monsters that I usually use in battles. The plan is to reduce my dependence on rentals as I slowly add these undervalued assets to my collection.

Not happy with gold chests

While I'm glad that I have made decent strides in the quality of assets in my collection, things haven't exactly gone according to plan in my season overall.

For starters, the plan for this season was to compete for Silver chests at the end of the season but it doesn't seem like I will be getting that as I'm still getting rating points for Gold chests.

While I have received a commendable 10 Gold chests so far, I feel like I would have received at least three times this number if I was chasing Silver chests. I'm still not sure about how this thing works but it is really not what I was going for this season.

My hunch is that I'm in this situation because I mistakenly spent too much of last season in the Gold league but I could be wrong. In any case, I'm just going to continue slowly fighting my way up the ranks and hopefully end the season with some decent rewards.

My deck is in a much better position than I ever imagined with my collection power already at 183K and rising with each purchase. I'm slowly reducing my reliance on rentals, earning more chests every day and surreptitiously growing my deck for the future.

My two accounts are in Gold II. I haven't decided which league I want to play in. So I rent all my cards. Rental cancellations are annoying, as you stated because I realize the situation during the game.
