Conqueror Jacek welcomed me home

For most of the past 24 hours, the main talk in SPlinterlands town has been about the Jacek airdrop. It is the latest member of the Chaos Legion collection to hit the scene.

Earlier today, I saw a bit about the incoming airdrop but I really couldn't focus on it because I had to travel another 5 hours back home. I have to say, it was a long and once again, arduous journey through a precarious travel route that is often in the news for all the wrong reasons.

Anyway, we got back home and after settling in, I got on my laptop to claim the airdrop but it wasn't yet time. So I went out to get a haircut and while waiting in the queue for my turn, the airdrop started but I couldn't claim it because I was not with my laptop.

Anyway, I know you're wondering, so I'll just save you the stress by mentioning that my haircut was as beautiful as you'd expect it to be and yes, I also got the airdrop.

I was fortunate enough to get two normal foiled Jaceks and while I'm grateful for that, I was bummed out that I didn't get the gold foil that I always dreamt of.

I was extremely pumped up for this particular card because of the lore. The anime-esque rendition of Jacek'sorigin and his hunger for Efreet blood really led to a rush of blood to my head.

Counting eggs

I'm not going to lie, I really fantasized about getting a gold foil version. I spent like twenty minutes yammering my wife's ear off about how awesome it would be if we got a gold foil.

Plenty of credit to her because she indulges me even when she doesn't quite understand the reason for my excitement. In any case, she lay there, exhausted from our trip, listening to a grown man rave about a digital collectable because this is the life she chose when I tricked her convinced her to marry me.

In the mavericks discord, someone posted a screenshot of a gold foil Jacek listed for $5000 and that really got my blood pumping. I started fantasizing about how awesome it would be to actually get one in my airdrop and even placed a tentative fantasy price of like $2000.

Unfortunately, my dream didn't come true and so, I wasn't blessed with Gold foil Jaceks in the airdrop. The two standard foils I got are currently worth a cumulative price of around $50 and that's quite decent for an airdrop.

I decided to test my luck further by opening some Chaos Legion packs, hoping to maybe pick up a GF Jacek but again, that turned out to be futile. After opening like 50 packs, I didn't get any gold foil Jacek or any GF legendary for that matter.

I got a bunch of other decent monsters worth a bit over $150 and I'll say that is fair. Tomorrow, I'll be switching back to work mode and will do some monster upgrades before throwing everything back into rentals.
