Corrupt boomers are killing Nigeria

avatar

Nigeria is facing a real crisis and regardless of the fact that there are many youths in the country, the boomers have all the power. Yes my friends, we're facing a chronic delusional boomer infestation I'm our government and it is evident in our country.

In Nigeria the trending news is about cattle, silly violence, religious wars and generally things that make you cringe. Our politics is pretty much in he dark ages and this is a byproduct of the boomerness in top Government positions.

It's not that I don't like old people because that will he unfair of me because their age isn't a fault. Life gets to everyone and as long as we live long enough, we'll also inevitably be old people.

My real problemis with the "traditional" old person that genuinely believes that they're infallible. I don't know if it is the same in other countries but around here, an unhealthy population of old people live under the notion that their age automatically translates to some sort of advanced wisdom.

This is the case with our delusional president who posted a tweet that practically instigated genocide and then got mad because it was taken down. He doesn't realise that "Twitter" as an entity didn't target him and it was actually because many people reported the tweet.

It was pretty much the same situation with Donald Trump and how he was oblivious of how the platform works. If you tweet something that people don't like, they'll report you and your shit gets taken off. It's not rocket science.

Someone needs to explain to our tantrum throwing president that has even made steps to ban Twitter in Nigeria that he's not the center of the universe. Unlike Nigeria where you don't have any accountability for what you say, people on Twitter can kick your dumb ass out of there.

It is a rather unfortunate situation that we have such an individual that is completely oblivious of reality in office. His views in everything modern, including politics and crypto are archaic.

The president of Nigeria is a relic that shouldn't be in a retirement home being fed soup by caregivers. He has no place in governance and everyone who voted for him should be ashamed of themselves.

At the end of the day, what we're suffering from is a boomer infestation in government and the only way to fix it is by tussling with them. Young and independent minded people like me that have not tasted the corrupt came are required to fix the situation.

The quest is, do I really want to? Do I really want to die for it? And of course is it really worth the stress when I could just use the funds to relocate. How much can one do with one life I wonder? Time will tell.

Marketng opportunity for hive?

Just the other day, I was talking about how the change in Google's ad services policy could be leveraged by hive. I was thinking we could take opportunity of the change and try attract more people.

The situation in Nigeria also presents an opportunity that can be turned into something useful. The Twitter ban in Nigeria means that people will be looking for an avenue to share their opinions.

Many people have resorted to using VPN and stuff like that but I'm sure there are others who didn't. I feel like this is a big opportunity for hive to try to reach out to the country that has the most active social media activities in Africa.

Despite suffering from the boomer situation, Nigeria is actually a young population of very socially active people. There is a big opportunity for us to present hive as an alternative, and bring in more people to the mix.

In the process, we will improve the network effect as @taskmaster4450 often talks about and could bring in some investors. It's a bad situation but something good could really come out of it, so it's worth the shot.

Well, the situation in Nigeria (regarding politics and people in power) is very similar to a lot of other countries in the world... I agree with you that it's "infestation" and if you know that it was growing (and breeding) for decades, it will be very hard to "cure" it... The generation swap will happen, it's just a matter of time, but it's frustrating... I agree...

I like the fact that there are a lot of young active people here on Hive from Nigeria, which means that the "corrupted view" that is in power, will not be forwarded to younger generations... That is important for the future!

Regarding the Twitter ban, it would be awesome to see ProjectBlank taking its place...

I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project and it will be highlighted in the next post!

Yeah without some quick human longevity stuff, the older generation cannot escape death. They will eventually succumb to nature no matter how much power they have.

Create your way out of the system. Hard to change it, although I believe at some point technology will eat all of them alive.

Ironic, I make the same claim about the United States: the boomers are destructive and destroying the place. I guess their self absorption is universal.

The good news is they are starting to exit power (or die off). Since many are either corrupt or just from a world that no longer exists, the exit of them is required. They are holding up the evolution of things.

One of my biggest fears is that they'll pass their ideals to their underlings. In Nigeria, we have a number of young people that are going down the same line of reasoning.

I genuinely hope they'll die off and just give the society a chance to heal and grow.

The whole Nigeria is a mess and if things are not done well, civil war will happen in the country.
IMO state for a week now have face a lot of drama people are being killed daily by unknown gunmen. Parents and children lying lifeless on the road.
I really hope the country will wake up from this delima and do something to safe life's.

Doesn't seem like there's hope right now.

Honestly I can't see the hope anywhere, the whole country seems to be a joke, just like a chess game they are playing.
Using peoples life to play politics, is not funny at all.
Cost of leaving is rising daily...man this country is a peice of work.

Rule by force is the disease, who and how are symptoms.

As long as most people continue to accept that these people get use violence on those people because reasons, this is what we get, varying levels of enslavement.
