Deck Value ATH, collection power struggle and Hive looking healthy

I was a bit under the weather yesterday, and so I had to sleep for pretty much the whole of the early evening until this morning. It was a 12-hour sleep that my body needed to recoup all the sleep I haven't been getting and in that time, a lot happened within the community.

Honestly, there's so much development and market activity going on both inside and outside hive, so if you blink, you'll miss a beat. The most interesting development of the lot is the rise in the value of my Splinterlands deck.

Pleasant surprise

The SPS airdrop will soon get on the road and it has brought a lot of excitement into the network. To benefit from the airdrop, people have been taking steps to increase the worth of their assets, and invariably benefit more from the drop.

I don't have a lot of money to play with, so my approach to increasing my airdrop earnings has been through increasing my collection power. Actually, increasing my collection power is something that I've also wanted to do for a while because I believe I believe that I should be slugging it out in Diamond 2.

Breaking into a higher league will of course take its toll, in terms of the effort I'll have to put in. I don't mind putting in the extra effort to increase my seasonal rewards, because that on its own will bring me even more fortune in the game.

Anyway, the quest to increase collection power seems to have turned into a frenzy, leading to a dramatic hike in the value of monsters. Gold foiled cards seem to be the most affected because they carry higher collection power value than their counterparts of the "regular" variation.

Since the airdrop was announced, I have been doing the most to stack as many gold foiled cards as I can, so far so so good, it has paid off. My collection power is swimming closer to my target but that's not the only benefit.

Most of my early gold foil purchases at reasonably lower prices have seen their value rise dramatically in a short space of time. This has led to an unprecedented rise in the market price of my deck.

The best part is that the airdrop hasn't even started yet. Remember that the airdrop is going to be spread out across the year, so your regular earnings will vary according to the worth of your Splinterlands assets.

This means that when the SPS tokens start coming in, there will most likely be another wave of interest in increasing asset value, and that will reflect in the valuation of monsters in the game.

Keep stacking

The objective should be crystal clear if you intend to benefit from this interesting situation. You have to start increasing the value of your assets and the easiest way to do that is through battling and earning cards in daily and seasonal rewards.

The higher you go, the more rewards you'll receive and this means that you'll also receive more SPS tokens. Also, try to add more gold foiled cards to your deck.

Legendary and epic gold foils are a bit expensive, but you could find good deals if you do a proper search. I've had to apply this approach where I sell fancy regulars for ordinary gold foils to increase my collection power without damaging my battle potential.

So I've been stacking every day in Splinterlands, and that's a feature of hive that keeps us all coming back. There's always something to do here and this is what energizes the community.

Speaking of energy, I also noticed a distinct rise in the value of Hive recently. I checked in my usual exchange and it turns out it got as high as $0.45 and that's quite bullish. I'm still optimistic about $5 Hive before the end of the year and all it takes is the odds swinging in our favour.
