Have you noticed your POSH passive income?

I haven't been as active on social media but I always keep track of activities in my Hive wallet. Whenever something goes in or leaves, I naturally have to be aware of it and so far so good, one interesting activity has been the Hive that I receive on a regular basis from Posh.

In case you're not aware of it, POSH is a project initiated by @acidyo and the OCD community. It stands for Proof of share and it is basically a system designed to reward promoting Hive outside of the blockchain.

If you're not part of POSH, today's your lucky day, as I'll explain how you can get started. Before I explain how to get started, here are some of the benefits you stand to gain from being a part of the POSH movement;

  • Reaching the wider crypto community with your publications
  • Earning POSH tokens
  • Earning Hive

A bit more information

POSH stands for proof of share and it is a reward-based mechanism put in place for individuals who regularly share their content on social media. At the time of writing, POSHING as it is referred to in some corners of the internet, refers to sharing your Hive publication on Twitter.

When you share your publications, include the "#hive" tag and a link to your publication on Hive into the tweet. There's a POSH bot working in the background of Hive and it is capable of tracking publications in pretty much every front-end on Hive blockchain.

As I mentioned earlier, the point of this exercise is to enable the Hive community to reach a wider audience on Twitter. Overall, I think it has been a success as thanks to Poshing, I know that I've onboarded a couple of people and I also get readers that inbox me based on my Hive publications.

Think of POSH as a subtle marketing movement that everybody in the community can participate in. It is a large-scale marketing movement that anyone with a Hive and Twitter account can be a part of.

How to start Poshing

To start Poshing, you need only two things; A Twitter account and a Hive account. If you have both, awesome. However, if you don't. you create a Twitter and start growing your audience.

  • Visit the Posh Website
  • Click on "Login with Twitter" button and input the necessary details
  • Next phase, input your Hive username and validate with Hivekeychain.

That's all there is to it. Now you're good to go. Start spreading the word about Hive, one publication at a time.

Posh earning

One of the best parts about being on Hive is that almost all your activities often end up being rewarding. It is no different with POSH, as you are rewarded in a variety of ways from simply sharing a link to your publication on Twitter.

The first and obvious way is that you reach a bigger audience on Twitter. You also stand a chance of onboarding or contributing to onboarding people into the platform. This is more of a community-based benefit from the Posh project as a whole, especially since this is the whole point of the project.

The second benefit is that you earn POSH tokens that are tradable on Hive-Engine. While I don't encourage selling it because it's underpriced in my opinion, it is within your right to do so if you please. So, in essence, you earn a tradable token whenever you share publications on Hive.

Recently, I have also noticed that I have been receiving a small amount of Hive from my daily Posh activity. I simply share my publication on Twitter and receive upwards of 0.1 Hive. It is probably the easiest money you'll ever make and when Hive is $10, these small values of Hive will mean even much more, so you might as well stack them now.

One interesting thing about Poshing is that you also receive benefits for sharing other people's Hive publications. So, if you see a post and think it is worth sharing, copy the link, compose a nice tweet that includes the hive tag and share it with your followers there.

After sharing, you receive a confirmation on hive from the posh Bot and that Tweet's activities earn you POSH tokens, as well as Hive when the confirmation comment on Hive pays out. It is silky smooth and I highly recommend everyone with a Twitter gets involved.

POSH is an excellent initiative and this is a very good description. I think it is more rewarding to share content from other authors than do so with your own (in terms of Posh and Hive) but I am not 100% sure. So this will help, Hive getting more exposure, the author and yourself. Win-win-win 😊

Posh has really been a blessing. It's better to go on Twitter to post meaningful thing's not just memes😂

This is an interesting concept to say the least. I guess I can see the utility for someone who regularly posts to Twitter, but to those of us who despise that website and the legacy social media, it's less appealing. For example, I have a link to my LeoFinance blog page on my Substack publication profile, and it would be nice to receive rewards for sharing the Leo and Hive links on there

Posh has played with the idea of spreading outside Twitter for a while now. Implementing other social media platforms might be more difficult I guess

Are there details of how the Hive payout is decided from Posh?

When you share your publications, include the "#hive" tag and a link to your publication on Hive into the tweet.

Is it compulsory to use the Hive tag? Does the bot not register a shared post if I don't use that tag?

I am asking because there are posts that I shared, and it wasn't reflected on the author's blog that I had done it.

I have tried different methods to figure out what could be wrong but I still didn't get it.

Maybe, I should notify @acidyo for answers.
