I give up

When I was in Nigeria, I did my utmost to avoid the news because it was always depressing. At the time, there was hardly any good news coming out of the country.

The country is being run by the same group of assholes that's gotten us to our lowest point in history. I'm afraid to say that there is no hope for the future.

It was pretty evident that Nigeria will not progress with the current leadership but a small section of the population, coupled with some advanced corruption got us here. The country is now hitting new lows every day and there's no hope in sight.

Ever since I left the country, I've been drawn towards Nigerian news. There's a deep-rooted homesickness I feel and every passing day, I hope things get better in the country.

It doesn't matter how much we hope though, Nigeria is not going to get better. I am slowly accepting that I'll never see a good Nigeria in my lifetime. There's an endless pipeline of extremely powerful and wealthy criminals lined up to control the resources of the country.

Nigeria is a very strange country. We spend all our energy in churches and mosques, talking about the afterlife and the future but people seem to think only short term, for the most part.

All the yapping about natural resources and all that crap in the country but we can't sort out electricity. It is silly to be having these conversations in 2024 but here we are.

Still i hope you are ok as well

You left at the right time, bro. I won’t say much. Rice that I used to buy #7k is now #80k

There is no hope insight... I hope the same people that shouted give us Barnabas instead are enjoying the fruit of their labour
