Only the real ones survive

I'm trying my hardest to not get sucked into the short-term euphoria of the market but with each passing green candle, it gets harder to keep my composure. I doubt there will be profit-taking at this stage but as the greens continue to unravel in the crypto market, we will get to that stage.

If we were to consider the raw data over the course of two years, you'd find that it would take a mammoth of bull run to even get us within touching distance of previous levels. The past two years have basically been a series of cataclysmic events in the market that when weighed individually, you'd say that they all have the "going to zero" effect.

To survive all of these events the way the crypto market did is evidence of the maturity and sturdiness of the industry. People would like to point at the casino-esque Ponzi schemes like Pepe and the likes that tend to dominate the airways but it's actual projects that keep the crypto market alive.

Despite the crypto industry's maturity, it is safe to say that there is still a lot of growing to do. Again, one could point at the existence of all the Shiba and Dogecoin "projects" to note that there is still room for growth.

Technically speaking, the industry only came into existence sometime in 2008, so to have a market cap in the Trillions of dollars says something about the rapid growth it has experienced. After only 15 years of existence, there are a lot of lessons to learn and there is still so much more to come.

Real Projects

When you scroll through Social media, there's always some rave about one new shiny thing that you can bet will fade into oblivion in a couple of months. I don't understand why we never learn but it really feels like this trend is not going anywhere, anytime soon.

NFT projects with virtually no utility are traded at ridiculously high prices while real projects get very little attention. For a lot of these projects, hype keeps them relevant and once that's done, the entity simply dies out.

This is the route that a lot of projects take and most of them only appear when the going gets good. Meanwhile, real projects with real community backing will thrive regardless of the situation in the market.

One of the endearing qualities of Hive is the fact that regardless of the condition of the market, you can always create value for yourself and for the community as a whole. If you're invested in a project that is solely dependent on hype then I'm afraid it is not one of the real ones and it will sink at the first sign of distress.
