The bills are piling up

As we get deeper into the bear market, I have to start thinking of contingencies to mitigate the rut. Since the job market hasn't exactly been kind to me, I am still very exposed to crypto and constantly at risk.

I don't think I can make budget cuts, so that means I'll have to start working a bit harder than before. I had to slow down due to my mental health and I must say, it was really beneficial but it seems like I will have to get back on the horse.

I won't say my Hive activities suffered due to the break but I definitely slowed down. I wasn't dropping two publications a day even though it is within my ability because I wanted to cut down on my screen time and also work on my fitness but it seems like I'll be making some changes.

I don't intend to stop working out but I reckon that I'll have to tweak my hours to accommodate my increased crypto activities. I'll have to be around the blockchain universe a bit more than I have been in the past couple of months.

Making changes

One thing for sure is that I'll be cutting down on my traditional gaming time and while that's something that I hate, it will add more value to my life since I intend to replace it with Splinterlands. When you think about it, Splinterlands actually directly adds value to my life, so it is only fair that I spend more time playing it.

Today, I found out that our data bundle that was supposed to last for 6 months expired after just two months and my suspicion is that it is a result of my gaming hours. The funny thing is that I didn't actually spend so much time gaming this period, all I did was complete the season in COD vanguard and that's all it took to drain our internet bundle.

Speaking of COD, I'll be temporarily pausing my playstation plus subscription since it is what enables me to play COD vanguard online. I am seriously going to miss playing that game but some things are just more important.

In any case, I'll just use this opportunity to grow my collection of offline games and try to just enjoy them even though they'll certainly pale in comparison to shooting people in COD. It's not exactly ideal but at least I get to save a bit of money and spend less on a recurring expenditure that is burning a hole in my pocket; the internet.

I'll continue applying for jobs and sending out emails to companies that I think may need my services. Life would be a lot better if I just got a well-paying job but with so many web 3 companies laying off staff, I'm not feeling very confident.

Finally, I'll be pausing my investment activities and just switch my focus to survival. Everything staked will remain staked and continue earning dividends but the earnings will either be held liquid or converted to cash for sustenance.

Bear market or simply "living money balance" is something we must always be very careful about. Hive can be a great source of income, like small tasks can be.
In my free "working time" I usually gather ideas for side-hustles, that from time to time give me some results
