This is why I converted all my XPolycub to vexPolycub

My Polycub investment has been relatively small scale but I've managed to hodl every single token I've earned there. Most of the Polycub in my possession has been staked into the Xpolycub contract and this morning, I moved it all to Vex Polycub.

Moving your XPolycub to the vexPolycub contract locks it up for 728 days or roughly two years and that adds a 20% APR to your collection. Add that to the 66.14% APR for XPolycub and you have vexPolycub offering an 86.14% APR over the next two years.

Since the governance UI update enables voting on proposals, as well as voting for specific yield farms to drive more value there, I was waiting for the introduction of vexPolycub. It is a feature that the community has been super excited about for a while now and I'm glad it has finally come to life.

The dollar value of Polycub has reacted positively to the development, slightly pumping up to $0.177 before dropping to $0.167. I think we're still very early and that is evident in the current Polycub block rate of 0.25.

If you're farming Polycub right now, in any capacity, you're basically like all the Bitcoin miners that started earning Bitcoin in the early stages of development. Unlike Bitcoin with 4 years halving period, Polycub has monthly halving embedded in the code and this effectively means that the token is destined to be extremely scarce in the future.

What was I thinking?

Well, locking up my XPolycub for two years seems like a huge gamble but I honestly had no intention of actually touching it in the first place. Other than the fact that my investment is quite small, I always planned to hold XPolycub for at least ten years before I even consider cashing out any profit.

The way I see it, this is an opportunity to make extra profit on an asset that I was always going to hold anyway. Honestly, if there was a longer lock period, I'd have locked it up.

I also felt this was a nice way to improve my influence in governance, particularly because I only have a small amount of XPolycub. Locking up my XPolycub in the vexPolycub contract triples my voting power.

Naturally, I voted for the farm that I'm invested in on the governance page. On top of that, I also voted for an increase in the MTB wrapping fee.

How I see it, a slight increase in the wrapping fee will drive more value into the protocol owned liquidity, which in turn will be used to buy back Polycub. More funds in the PoL means a higher risk-free value of Polycub which then trickles all the way up to the value of my vexPolycub that I'll be staking for a very long time.

If you have plans to invest and hold Polycub tokens for a long time, the best thing you can do for yourself is throwing them into the vexPolycub contract. I also encourage everyone that participate in governance in any capacity possible and play their role in the development of the platform.
