Vouchers, Credit and Potions: Everything you need for the general sale

We're exactly 24 hours away from the start of the general sale. I figured I'd use this opportunity to do a detailed breakdown of what you need to participate.

First of all, I must state that if you want to participate in this project, you need to, first of all, buy a summoner spellbook. A summoner spellbook on Splinterlands costs $10 and enables you to gain full access to the game.

Chaos Legion Pack

• Chaos Legion pack is the newest edition of NFT assets in Splinterlands.
• Each Chaos Legion pack will cost $4.
• As mentioned earlier, the only prerequisite to buying packs is that you need to purchase a summoner spellbook within the game
• Each Chaos Legion pack consist of 5 random NFT in Splinterlands that can be used for battles.
• The NFT in question are tradable assets in Splinterlands' marketplace. They can also be used for ranked battles, tournaments and guild brawls that you earn from in different capacities.
• It is also possible to find two of the same monster(NFT) in a pack.
• The packs can be tokenised and traded on the Hive decentralised marketplace including Hive-engine, Leodex and Tribaldex.
• As mentioned earlier, chaos legion packs can be traded in the decentralised marketplace. However, to participate in the general sale, you have to mint packs directly in the game.

Splinterlands Credit

• Minting packs requires Splinterlands credit
• Every 1000 Splinterlands credit is equivalent to $1. So that means each pack costs 4,000 Credit.
• You can get Splinterlands credit with any cryptocurrency. Here is a detailed explanation of how to buy Splinterlands credit with any cryptocurrency.

Vouchers

• Minting packs in the previous round required vouchers but you no longer need them to mint
• If you buy 100 packs or more, you get a 10% bonus on the packs.
• So 100 packs means 10 extra packs but you need ten vouchers to get the 10 extra packs
• You can get vouchers by staking SPS tokens or just buy it from any of the aforementioned Dexes.

Potions

• Potions are used to open packs and they improve your luck
• There are two potions that concern opening packs; Legendary and Alchemy potion
• Legendary potion increases your chance of getting a legendary monster
• Alchemy potions increase your chance of getting a gold foil card
• Think of it like this: potions increase your chance of getting rarer and more expensive cards if you decide to open your pack
• Maximum luck per pack is derived when you use 5 of each potion

Marketplace

• There are number of marketplaces to trade monsters including Splinterlands, Peakmonsters, and Monstermarket. You can also sell your Splinterlands monsters on Wax blockchain.
• Each monster has a market value that is determined by perception. However, rarity and whether it is gold foil or not also plays a factor in the price.

Possible questions

• Is it too late to participate? No, it is not too late. The general sale starts at 6pm GMT+1
• Can a new account participate in the sale? Yes you can, all you have to do is follow the steps here and then participate in the sale
• When is the deadline? The sale ends when all the packs are sold out
• How many packs are there? There will be roughly 12-14 million packs. Check @splinterlands discord for more info
