Aerobic walk the Monument; a beautiful place overlooking the sea (Eng - Esp)
Greetings friends who are lovers of architecture and design, I hope you are enjoying good health with your loved ones, we are just a few days away from starting the Easter holiday (also called Holy Week), in which we remember death and resurrection of Jesus; It is a time for reflection and also a brief break in school activities, which is very good for children; Since the last few weeks have been full of different activities, to relax and enjoy the sea breeze in the company of my little adventurer, we made an afternoon visit to the well-known Monument sector in the city of Cumaná, located on the perimeter avenue in the so-called coastal strip. .
The name derives from some sculptures located on the shore of the beach: The Indian and the monk, representing the indigenous groups that inhabited the eastern coast and the evangelization by the monks, in the process of conquest and colonization of the Venezuelan territory by the Spanish crown, it is important to emphasize that Cumana was the first Spanish settlement on land, which is why it is known as the Firstborn of the American Continent; On the occasion of the celebration of the 500 years of the city, this sector was remodeled and several iron sculptures were added, in addition an aerobic walk was built, very busy in the morning and afternoon.
Saludos amigos amantes de la arquitectura y el diseño, deseo se encuentren disfrutando de buena salud en unión de sus seres queridos, estamos a poco días de iniciar el asueto de semana santa (llamada también semana mayor), en la cual se recuerda la muerte y resurrección de Jesús, es un tiempo de reflexión y también un pequeño descanso en las actividades escolares, que le viene muy bien a los niños ya que las últimas semanas han estado cargadas con diferentes actividades, para relajarnos y disfrutar la brisa marina en compañía de mi pequeño aventurero hicimos una visita vespertina al conocido sector el Monumento en la ciudad de Cumaná, ubicado en la avenida perimetral en la llamada franja costera.
El nombre deriva de unas esculturas ubicadas en la orilla de la playa: El indio y el monje, que representan a los grupos indígenas que habitaban la costa oriental y la evangelización por parte de los monjes, en el proceso de conquista y colonización del territorio Venezolano por parte de la corona española, es importante resaltar que Cumaná fue el primer asentamiento español en tierra firme, razón por la cual se le conoce como la Primogénita del Continente Americano; con motivo de la celebración de los 500 años de la ciudad , este sector fue remodelado y se agregaron varias esculturas de hierro, además se construyó un paseo aeróbico, muy concurrido en horas de la mañana y la tarde.
The new sculptures according to the information of a kind old man, native of the city, represent the women and men who participated in the foundation of the city on November 27, 1515, these emerge from a great tree with flowers and in the petals of the flower are located the sculptures of different sizes, they are made of iron and are of black color, part of the central sculpture is a little deteriorated.
The tree and flower sculptures are located on a circular concrete base, the tubes are fixed with screws, on the left side there is a plaque where previously a brief description of the sculptures could be read, on the right side there was a wall with colorful letters and a heart that said "I love Cumaná", these were removed for repair.
Las nuevas esculturas de acuerdo a la información de un amable anciano, nativo de la ciudad representan a las mujeres y hombres que participaron en la fundación de la ciudad el 27 de noviembre de 1515, estos emergen de un gran árbol con flores y en los pétalos de la flor se encuentran ubicadas las esculturas de diferentes tamaños, están hechas de hierro y son de color negro, parte de la escultura central se encuentra un poco deteriorada.
El árbol y flor de las esculturas se ubica sobre una base circular de concreto, los tubos están fijados con tornillos, al lado izquierdo se observa una placa donde se anteriormente se podía leer una breve descripción de las esculturas, en lado derecho había un muro con letras coloridas y un corazón que decía "Yo amo a Cumaná", estos fueron removidos para su reparación.
The aerobic walk has enough space for people to carry out outdoor activities, in addition to a wall that borders part of the beach and serves as a bench and viewpoint to enjoy the sea breeze and rest, the floor has several stripes of different colors and is Made of concrete, the shape of the promenade is a kind of half-moon that allows you to observe the breadth of the sea from different angles. It also has several lights located on posts with a peculiar triangular shape, they are white and have blue and red bands. on the bottom.
Visiting this beautiful place in the afternoon was a nice adventure, we were able to watch the sun set and enjoy the sea breeze from the banks, also the coming of the waves which is very relaxing, the number of people who exercise at this time of day is much longer than those I have seen in the morning, pets and children also take advantage of the afternoon to play and have fun by the sea.
El paseo aeróbico cuenta con suficiente espacio para que las personas realicen actividades al aire libre, además un muro que bordea parte de la playa y sirve de banco y mirador para disfrutar la brisa marina y descansar, el piso tiene varias franjas de diferentes colores y está hecho de hormigón, la forma del paseo mes una especie de media luna que permite observar la amplitud del mar desde diferentes ángulos, tiene además varias luminarias ubicadas en postes con una peculiar forma triangular, son de color blanco y tienen bandas de color azul y rojo en la parte inferior.
Visitar este hermoso lugar en horas de la tarde fue una linda aventura, pudimos observar el ocaso del sol y disfrutar la brisa marina desde los bancos, también el ir venir de las olas que es muy relajante, la cantidad de personas que se ejercitan a esta hora del día es mucho mayor que las que he visto en horario matutino, las mascotas y los niños también aprovechan la tarde para jugar y divertirse a la orilla del mar.
The sculptures of men and women are located in the center of the promenade, the base is formed by three concrete steps in the form of letter D, in the back part it has a walkway and next to this the benches are located, separated by small vertical columns, they are painted in two tones of blue, the promenade also has parking.
The central sculpture shows a woman standing in the upper part, seated in a circle and with open arms another woman is located, according to the information of the gentleman in this circle there were three sculptures of women and two in the base; to the right side a man holds the flower where another woman is raising a cup, the following sculpture is a woman with an arm extended towards the sky, the lateral sculptures have a circular base decorated with leaves and petals.
Las esculturas de hombres y mujeres se ubican en el centro del paseo, la base está formada por tres escalones de concreto en forma de letra D, en la parte trasera tiene una caminaría y al lado de esta se ubican los bancos, separados por pequeñas columnas verticales, están pintados en dos tonos de azul, el paseo cuenta también con estacionamiento.
La escultura central muestra a una mujer parada en la parte superior, sentada en círculo y con los brazos abiertos se ubica otra mujer, de acuerdo a la información del señor en este círculo habían tres esculturas de mujeres y dos en la base; al lado derecho un hombre sostiene la flor donde está otra mujer levantando una copa, la siguiente escultura es una mujer con un brazo extendido hacia el cielo, las esculturas laterales tienen una base circular decorada con hojas y pétalos.
My favorite part of this visit was watching the sunset, I love when the sun is setting and the sparkles illuminate the sea, it is a beautiful combination of colors that goes from bright to dark to welcome the night, this landscape bathed by the setting sun is really charming for its beautiful golden color, the ride looks very different at this time and the calm sea, it was a nice experience for my son and me to enjoy the evening sea breeze and watch the sunset on the shore of the beach.
Mi parte favorita de esta visita fue contemplar el atardecer, me encanta cuando el sol se está ocultando y los destellos iluminan el mar, es una hermosa combinación de colores que va pasando de brillante a oscuro para dar la bienvenida a la noche, este paisaje bañado por el ocaso del sol es realmente encantador por su bello color dorado, el paseo se ve muy distinto a esta hora y el mar en calma, fue una linda experiencia para mi hijo y para mi disfrutar la brisa marina vespertina y ver el atardecer en la orilla de la playa.
