Greetings and blessings fellow yarn and needle lovers who make life in this beautiful community #needleworkmonday, have a happy start of the week in union with your loved ones, this is my entry for the NeedleWorkMonday Community Contest || NeedleWork Your Seasonproposed by @crosheille; in my country there are no seasons, there are only two defined periods, drought and rain, we are currently in the rainy season and it's a little cold, so I made a hooded sweater for my son, it's the first time I make this kind of garment and I liked the result very much, at the beginning I was a little anxious about the result, as I was sewing I measured it to my son ha, ha, about 12 times and I am not exaggerating, when I finished I was very happy because it was as I had planned, I did not have to unpick and my son is very happy with his hooded sweater; he has wanted one for a long time.

Saludos y bendiciones amigos amantes de los hilos y las agujas que hacen vida en esta hermosa comunidad #needleworkmonday, que tengan un feliz inicio de semana en unión de sus seres queridos, esta es mi entrada para el Concurso comunitario NeedleWorkMonday || Aguja trabaja tu temporada propuesto por @crosheille; en mi país no se dan las estaciones, solo hay dos períodos definidos sequía y lluvia, actualmente estamos en la temporada de lluvia y hace un poco de frío, por ello elaboré para mi hijo un sweter con capucha, es la primera vez que hago este tipo de prendas y el resultado me gustó mucho, al principio estaba un poco ansiosa por el resultado, a medida que avanzaba en la costura se lo medía a mi hijo ja, ja, como 12 veces y no exagero, al terminar me sentí muy feliz porque quedó como lo había planeado, no tuve que descoser y mi hijo está muy contento con su sweter de capucha; ya que desde hace tiempo quería uno.
For its elaboration I used monkey fabric with military print and unicolor (vanilla), this fabric is ideal for the cold, it is similar to the polar blanket but a little more rigid, I have used it twice and it is easy to sew and manipulate, I bought them more than a year ago and for health reasons I could not make my son's troop, there are still fabrics and garments to sew for him, I trust in God that this year I can finish them to start 2023 without pending projects.
Para su elaboración utilicé tela de mono con estampado militar y unicolor (vainilla), esta tela es ideal para el frío, es parecida a la manta polar pero un poco más rígida, la he usado en dos ocasiones y es fácil de coser y manipular, las compré hace más de un año y por motivos de salud no había podido hacer la tropa de mi hijo, aún quedan telas y prendas que debo coser para él, confío en Dios que este año las pueda terminar para iniciar el el 2023 sin proyectos pendientes.
I marked and cut the pieces of the garment, the front, back, cuffs and part of the hood in unicolor fabric; the pocket, sash (ribbon that goes at the bottom of the flannel), sleeves and the remaining part of the hood in printed fabric.
Marqué y corté las piezas de la prenda, la parte delantera, trasera, los vivos (puños) y una parte de la capucha en tela unicolor; el bolsillo, fajón (cinta que va en la parte de abajo de la franela), mangas y la parte restante de la capucha en tela estampada.
Once the pieces were cut, I started by sewing the hood on the curved part, facing right sides together, then I turned and sewed a hem on the front part.
Cortadas las piezas, inicié cosiendo la capucha por la parte curva, enfrentando derecho con derecho, luego volteé y cosí un dobladillo en la parte del frente.
To assemble the flannel I faced right to right the front and back, pinned and sewed the shoulders, to avoid mishaps I identified the pieces, the goal was a good job and I took my time to do it, sewed rested a little checked that everything was in order and then continued, sewed the shoulders in the centered front pinned the pocket, which previously I made a hem on the upper sides and sewed with straight stitch.
Para armar la franela enfrenté derecho con derecho la parte delantera y trasera, sujeté con alfileres y cosí por los hombros, para evitar contratiempos identifiqué las piezas, el objetivo era un buen trabajo y me tomé mi tiempo para hacerlo, cosía descansaba un poco, revisaba que todo estuviese en orden y luego continuaba, cosidos los hombros en la parte delantera centrado sujeté con alfileres el bolsillo, al cual previamente le hice un dobladillo en los laterales superiores y cosí con puntada recta.
The sleeves were attached by pinning the sides closed, then I faced the sleeves and flannel (sweater) right sides together, sewed with a straight stitch, zig zagged to secure the seam and pinned the hood.
Las mangas las pegué cerrando los laterales con alfileres, luego enfrenté derecho con derecho las mangas y franela (sweter) cosí con puntada recta, pasé zig zag para asegurar la costura y con alfileres fijé la capucha.
I sewed the hood to the sweater all the way around the neck, then I sewed again to fix the piece and give a better finish.
Cosí la capucha al sweter por todo el contorno del cuello, luego repisé para fijar la pieza y dar un mejor acabado.
I made the cuffs and the sash with rectangles of 7 * 14 cm (cuffs) and another rectangle of 17 * 70 cm, I sewed them on the reverse side, turned them inside out, folded and zig zagged the edges.

I love the final part and how neat the sweater came out, I love making dresses and I think it's amongst my 2023 goal because I want to have the skill of making dresses
