DIY: Sports outfit, jumpsuit and hooded sweater (Eng - Esp)
Happy Monday friends lovers of threads and needles, I wish you a happy and blessed "Labor Day", we started a new month; May, it seems incredible that we are in the month number, how fast time passes, this month promises to bring rains and cool the weather in the area where I live, I hope so because the heat has been intense in the last week of April; I am happy to share with you a project that I made with love for my son, it is a sports outfit: Jumpsuit and hooded sweater, since I made him his first hooded sweater they are his favorite and he only wants to wear these outfits, he asked me that the new clothes I am going to sew for him be with hooded sweater because they are very comfortable, as every spoiled mom I do my best to fulfill his requests haha.
Feliz lunes amigos amantes de los hilos y las agujas, les deseo un feliz y bendecido "Día del Trabajador", iniciamos un nuevo mes; Mayo, parece increíble que estamos en el mes número , que rápido pasa el tiempo, este mes promete traer lluvias y refrescar el clima en la zona donde vivo, espero que así sea porque el calor ha estado intenso en las última semana de abril; me siento feliz de compartir con ustedes un proyecto que hice con mucho amor para mi hijo, se trata de un conjunto deportivo: Mono y suéter con capucha, desde que le hice su primer suéter con capucha son sus favoritos y solo quiere usar estos atuendos, me pidió que la nueva ropa que le vaya a coser sea con suéter de capucha porque son muy cómodos, como toda mamá consentidora hago lo posible por cumplir sus peticiones jaja.
For this outfit I used a different fabric than the ones I used before, it's called Puma, it's soft and fresh, ideal for the climate of my region, it sews without difficulty and has the right elongation and thickness for this type of garments.

I started by marking the patterns, then I cut and identified the pieces, this really helps me not to make mistakes and sew the corresponding pieces.

Sports jumpsuit
Once the pieces were cut out, I fastened one of the pocket pieces right sides together in the front, then I sewed leaving a distance of 7 cm in the upper part between the pocket and the waist, this space is to glue the elastic; I sewed the pocket cover 2 cm from the edge, then I made picks in each corner, turned and repeated, the last step to glue the pocket is to put the other cover right side together and sew along the edges, then the pocket is sewn to the external part of the leg.
Mono deportivo

To combine the jumpsuit with the sweater I sewed three red wine color strips on each front leg, then I sewed the elastic with zig zag stitch on the back side of the fabric, then I made a fold to cover the elastic and secure with straight stitch, finally I sewed the hem making a hem of 1 cm, this is how the jumpsuit is finished, sewing this jumpsuit took me less time than I thought, the hardest part was to glue the pockets and it was very easy.
Para combinar el mono con el suéter cosí tres tiras color vino tinto en cada pierna delantera, luego pequé el elástico con puntada de zig zag por lado revés de la tela, luego hice un doblez para cubrir el elástico y asegure con puntada recta, finalmente cosí el ruedo haciendo un dobladillo de 1 cm, así está terminado el mono deportivo, coser este mono me tomó menos tiempo del que pensé, lo más difícil era pegar los bolsillos y resultó muy fácil.
Hooded sweater.
In this sweater I combined the gray and red wine fabrics, in the front and the hood, I wanted to make the hood with lining and I only had some gray fabric left from the jumpsuit, and I used it to make a different pattern in the front part combining it with the lining of the hood, the first thing I did was to sew the gray part in the front of the sweater, then right front the back and front part and then I sewed the shoulders.
Suéter con capucha.
En este suéter combiné las telas gris y vino tinto, en la parte delantera y la capucha, quería hacer la capucha con forro y solo me quedó un poco de tela gris del mono, y la aproveché para hacer un modelo diferente en la parte delantera combinando con el forro de la capucha, lo primero que hice fue coser la parte gris en el delantero del suéter, luego enfrente derecho la parte trasera y delantera luego cosí los hombros.

El bolsillo lo hice enfrentando las dos piezas, cosí con puntada recta, dejando la parte de abajo sin coser para voltear, de esta forma las costuras quedan dentro (embonadas), luego repisé y pegué en el delantero.
To make the hood I sewed the main fabric red wine and the lining on the curved part, then I sew the front part back to back and make a flap with the gray fabric (to make the flap, when cutting the lining add 3 cm on the front part, so we can fold and make the flap comfortably.
Para hacer la capucha cosí la tela principal vino tinto y el forro por la parte curva, luego enfrento revés con revés coso la parte delantera y hago una pestaña con la tela gris (para hacer la pestaña , al cortar el forro se le agregan 3 cm en la parte frontal , así podemos doblar y hacer cómodamente la pestaña.
I glued the sleeves, facing straight, then I closed the sides with a straight stitch.
