Good afternoon #NeedleWorkMonday community happy and blessed Thursday I hope you are well together with family and friends, this time I want to share with you a #tutorial to make mouth covers to protect the little ones in the back to school and other family members, I made them using scraps of fabrics from previous projects.
I made three models, the process of elaboration is similar for the first two, the last one has some variation but simple to make.
With the return to classes and opening of activities it is important to comply with bio security measures, such as using the mouthguard, it is also advisable to have several mouthguards and thus not use the same one every day, having several is more practical, there are even those who combine it with clothes and give a personal touch with appliques or embroidery.
Buenas tardes comunidad #NeedleWorkMonday feliz y bendecido jueves espero se encuentren bien en unión de familiares y amigos, en esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes un #tutorial para elaborar tapa bocas para proteger a los más pequeños en el regreso a clases y demás miembros de la familia, los hice usando retazos de telas de proyectos anteriores.
Hice tres modelos de tapabocas, el proceso de elaboración es parecido para los dos primeros, el último tiene algo de variación pero sencillo de hacer.
Con la vuelta a clases y apertura de actividades es importante cumplir las medidas de bio seguridad, como usar el tapabocas, también es aconsejable disponer de varios tapabocas y así no usar el mismo todos los días, teniendo varios es más práctico, incluso hay quienes lo combinan con la ropa y le dan un toque personal con apliques o bordados.

PROCEDURE
I started the job by marking the patterns on the fabrics, adjusting each one to match, then cut the pieces.
PROCEDIMIENTO
Inicié el trabajo marcando los patrones en las telas, ajustando cada una para que coincidiera, luego corté las piezas.
To make the model number 1, I pinned the pieces together and sewed a straight seam starting at the point of the beak.
Para hacer el modelo de tapabocas número 1, uní las piezas con alfileres y pasé costura recta iniciando en la punta tipo pico.
In pattern number 2, I sewed the center openings with a straight stitch.
En el modelo número 2, cosí con puntada recta las aberturas del centro.
I faced the pieces, pinned them together and stitched all the way around, leaving an opening to turn the piece over. (In this step the process is the same for both models of the mouth cover).
Enfrenté las piezas, sujeté con alfileres y pasé costura por todo el contorno dejando una abertura para voltear la pieza. (En este paso el proceso es igual para ambos modelos de tapa bocas)
Once the pieces were turned over, I sewed a straight seam around the contour, starting at the opening.
Volteadas las piezas, pasé una costura recta de repisado por el contorno, iniciando en la abertura.
I hemmed the ends of the moccasins, pinned and stitched with a straight stitch.
Hice un dobladillo en los extremos de los tapa bocas, los sujeté con alfileres y los cosí con una puntada recta.
I cut several 20 cm strips of elastic each, pinned the elastic and passed it through the hem, tied a knot in the elastic and lowered the knot towards the hem to prevent it from bothering the face.
Corté varias tiras de elástico de 20 cm cada una, puse el elástico en alfiler y lo pasé por el dobladillo, hice un nudo al elástico y bajé el nudo hacía el dobladillo para evitar que este moleste en la cara.
The number 3 mouth cover, I made it by cutting the circles in half, then pinned and sewed the side part.
El tapa bocas número 3, lo hice cortando los círculos por la mitad, luego sujeté con alfileres y cosí la parte lateral.
After sewing both parts, I sewed the triangles right sides together and sewed them together, leaving an opening to turn over.
Cosidas ambas partes, enfrente derecho con derecho los triángulos y pasé costura, dejando una abertura para voltear.
I sewed the ends inward to make a hem, then I placed the elastic as in the previous models and finished.
Cosí las puntas hacia adentro para hacer un dobladillo, luego coloqué el elástico igual que en los modelos anteriores y terminado.
