Exploring Arapito Beach on a Cool Morning (Eng - Esp)
Hello there, fellow travelers! It is a pleasure to greet you and wish you an excellent, blessed week with your loved ones. Today, I’m sharing a brief tour of Arapito Beach. Located along the Cumaná–Puerto La Cruz highway, it is part of Mochima National Park—the country's largest natural park—which encompasses various beaches, stretches of sand, and islands shared between the two states. To get there, you can take public transport from the Cumaná passenger terminal; in about 40 minutes, you’ll arrive at this beach paradise to enjoy its warm waters and stunning scenery. The landscape features mountains belonging to the Coastal Range, the region's signature palm trees, and recreational areas for both adults and children. If you have a car, the trip is easy and comfortable: simply take the national highway and Trunk Road 9 from Cumaná. The beach is easily accessible, as it sits right next to the road, and the scenery along the way is truly beautiful—perfect for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
Beside the main highway, there is a sign identifying the beach and a placard regarding the 2024 sports games; a security booth and a shelter serving as a transport stop are also located there. A path leading to the beach begins just a few meters away; the area features rentals for sunshades and chairs, as well as restaurants offering food and restroom facilities. Arapito Beach—along with others in the vicinity—is part of the renowned Mochima National Park. The views are breathtaking, showcasing islets and cays as well as the beautiful mountain surrounding the park. Our visit allowed us to explore a stretch of the shoreline; while we did not intend to swim—lacking the proper attire—we wanted to get to know the beach so we could return in the near future to enjoy its warm waters.
Hola, hola amigos viajeros, es un placer saludarles deseando que tengan una excelente y bendecida semana en unión de sus seres queridos, en esta ocasión les comparto un pequeño recorrido por la playa Arapito, esta se encuentra ubicada en la carretera nacional Cumaná Puerto la Cruz y forma parte del parque Nacional Mochima, considerado el parque natural más grande del país, está integrado por varias playas, playón e islas que comparten ambos estados, para llegar a esta playa puedes tomar el transporte desde el terminal de pasajeros de Cumaná y en aproximadamente 40 minutos estarás en esta paradisíaca playa disfrutando sus cálidas aguas y hermosos paisajes que incluyen montañas, pertenecientes a la cordillera de la costa, las típicas palmeras de esta región del país y espacios recreativos para grandes y pequeños, si dispones de auto el viaje es sencillo, puedes llegar cómodamente, tomando la carretera nacional y troncal 9 desde Cumaná, la playa es de fácil acceso ya que se encuentra nacional a un lado de la vía, los paisajes del trayecto son realmente hermosos y perfectos para quienes aman la fotografía y espacios naturales.
Al lado de la carretera nacional, se encuentra una valla de identificación con el nombre de la playa y un cartel sobre los juegos deportivos que se realizaron el año 2024, también hay una caseta de seguridad y una cabaña que funciona como parada para esperar el transporte; a pocos metros de esta valla se extiende un camino que conduce hasta la playa, cuenta con alquiler de toldos, sillas y restaurantes que ofrecen servicios de comida y baño, la playa Arapito y otras que se ubican en esta zona, integran el conocido Parque Mochima, las vistas son impresionantes, se aprecian islotes y cayos, también la hermosa montaña que rodea el parque, nuestro recorrido nos permitió explorar vario metros de la orilla de la playa, la intención no era bañarnos, pues no teníamos la vestimenta adecuada pero sí queríamos conocer y explorar la playa para en un futuro cercano venir y disfrutar de sus cálidas aguas.
I have driven along this highway with my son on several occasions, but this was the first time we stopped to take in the scenery and the incredible beach views. The morning was cool and clear—perfect for a walk along the shore, admiring the panorama, and enjoying the fresh morning breeze; we arrived very early, so there were few people around.
A local man told us that visitors start arriving around 11:00 a.m., and it can often be difficult to find a canopy or hut for shade due to the large crowds. As always, beautiful palm trees—my personal favorites—were a highlight of the setting; there are many of them, along with fruit trees like mango. I believe this is the first time I’ve seen so many mango trees at a beach. The palm trees look absolutely stunning swaying in the wind, adding a perfect tropical touch to this beautiful beach.
En varias oportunidades, en compañía de mi hijo he pasado por esta carretera nacional, pero es la primera vez que nos detenemos a observar el paisaje y las increíbles vistas de la playa, la mañana estaba fresca, despejada y perfecta para caminar por la playa, ver las panorámicas y disfrutar la fresca brisa matutina, nuestro recorrido fue muy temprano y habían pocas personas en la playa.
Uno de los señores nos dijo que a partir de las 11 acuden los visitantes y en muchas ocasiones resulta un tanto difícil conseguir un toldo o choza para protegerse de sol, debido a la gran afluencia; como siempre las hermosas palmeras que son mis favoritas, no podían faltar en este espacio, hay muchas de ellas y también árboles frutales como el Mango, creo que es la primera vez que veo varios árboles de esta fruta en una playa, definitivamente las palmeras se ven hermosas siendo movidas por el viento y agregando el toque tropical a esta hermosa playa.
From the road, there are spectacular views of the beach; surrounded by mountains, it resembles a vast lagoon that invites you to enjoy its warm waters. I also loved its beautiful blue hue and the sight of the islets, which appear to float upon the water. The surrounding vegetation—comprising palms, banana plants, grasses, and shrubs—forms a beautiful ecosystem.
The view of the beach and its spectacular color creates a stunning landscape for those who love nature and a refreshing swim. Since the sun’s rays weren't too intense, we were able to take a leisurely walk, exploring the area at our own pace and taking in every detail. This exploration will serve as a guide for a future visit, when we can swim in these refreshing Caribbean waters and perhaps take a boat tour of Mochima Park. It was a lovely experience that allowed me to connect with nature and appreciate the beautiful scenery of Arapito Beach.
Desde la carretera, se aprecian espectaculares vistas de la playa, rodeada por la montaña parece una laguna inmensa qué invita a disfrutar sus cálidas aguas, su lindo color azul también me gustó y la vista de los islotes que dan la impresión de ir flotando en el agua, alrededor se observa la vegetación, además de palmeras incluye plátanos, gramíneas y arbustos que integran este hermoso ecosistema.
La vista de la playa y su espectacular color, es sin duda un hermoso paisaje para quienes aman disfrutar la naturaleza y un refrescante baño en la playa, sin la fuerte incidencia de los rayos solares, tuvimos la oportunidad de caminar tranquilamente, lo cual nos permitió recorrer los espacios sin prisa y observando cada detalle, esta exploración servirá de guía para nuestra futura visita, en la cual podamos bañarnos en estas refescantes aguas caribeñas y tal vez hacer un recorrido en lancha por el parque Mochima; fue una linda experiencia donde pude disfrutar el contacto con la naturaleza y apreciar los hermosos paisajes de la playa Arapito.
