Fan Art: Zingu inspired rectangular pencil case (Eng - Esp)
Greetings creative friends, I hope you are well and have a blessed weekend, it's amazing how fast the days go by, the first quarter of the year is over and a new month begins with great expectations and projects to finish, the launch of the #holozing game is also approaching, its new characters promise lots of fun, plus great powers and abilities to face the enemies; today I share the elaboration of a rectangular penguin pencil case inspired by Zingu, this cute penguin stands out for its ice powers on the wings and a crystal on the forehead; the pencil case is black, decorated with a blue crystal on the front.
Saludos amigos creativos deseo se encuentren bien y tengan un bendecido fin de semana, es increíble lo rápido que avanzan los días, ya terminó el primer trimestre del año e inicia un nuevo mes con grandes expectativas y proyectos por terminar, se acerca también el lanzamiento del juego #holozing, sus nuevos personajes prometen mucha diversión, además grandes poderes y habilidades para enfrentar los enemigos; hoy comparto la elaboración de una cartuchera rectangular inspirada en Zingu, este simpático pingüino destaca por sus poderes de hielo en las alas y un cristal en la frente; la cartuchera es de color negro, decorada con un cristal azul en la parte frontal.

I started by making the pattern, taking as a reference the width of the fabric and the capacity that the pencil case should have to store pencils, markers and some objects used in the office; then I marked and cut the pieces, two rectangles in main fabric, two for the lining and two squares to make the zipper stops.
To give the pencil case shape and a firm base, I cut a 4 * 4 centimeter square at the top corners of the rectangles and two 4 * 3.5 centimeter rectangles at the bottom corners.

Inicié haciendo el patrón, tomando como referencia el ancho de la tela y la capacidad que debe tener la cartuchera para guardar lápices, marcadores y algunos objetos que se usan en la oficina; luego marqué corté las piezas, dos rectángulos en tela principal, dos para el forro y dos cuadrados para hacer los topes de la cremallera.
Para dar forma a la cartuchera y una base firme corté un cuadrado de 4 * 4 centímetros en las esquinas superiores de los rectángulos y dos rectángulos de 4 * 3,5 centímetros en las esquinas inferiores.
I made the crystal in athletic fabric, with the help of the iron I glued the back of the fabric, then I marked the crystal, sewed on the reverse side, turned it over and sewed some straight seams that simulate the lines of the crystal.
El cristal lo hice en tela atlética, con ayuda de la plancha pegué en pelón en la parte trasera de la tela, luego marqué el cristal, cosí por el revés, volteé y pasé unas costuras rectas que simulan las líneas del cristal.
Once the crystal was finished I glued it to the front of the pencil case using zigzag stitch, I also sewed the stops on the ends of the zipper.
Terminado el cristal lo pegué en la parte delantera de la cartuchera usando puntada de zigzag, también cosí los topes en los extremos del cierre.
The next step was to glue the zipper with straight stitch, I faced right side of the main fabric with right side of the zipper and right side of the lining with back side of the zipper, in the same way I sewed the other side of the zipper and then repeated to secure the fabrics and obtain a better finish.
El siguiente paso fue pegar el cierre con puntada recta, enfrenté derecho de la tela principal con derecho del cierre y derecho del forro con revés del cierre, de la misma forma cosí el otro lado del cierre y luego repisé para asegurar la telas y obtener un mejor acabado.
Once the zipper was glued, I faced the main and lining fabrics, pinned and sewed leaving an opening to turn over; to give the pencil case a rectangle shape I sewed the corner squares facing the side and horizontal seams, then turned over, closed the opening with a straight stitch and the pencil case is finished.
Pegado el cierre, enfrenté las telas principal y forro, sujeté con alfileres y cosí dejando una abertura para voltear; para dar forma de rectángulo a la cartuchera cosí los cuadrados de las esquinas enfrentando las costuras laterales y horizontales, luego volteé, cerré la abertura con puntada recta y así está terminada la cartuchera.
This nice project inspired by Zingu will be a gift for a very special person, the pencil case she uses regularly is a bit deteriorated and broken, it's time to replace it with a wider one and that also has one of her favorite colors, blue, I liked the result and also the waterproof fabric, being rigid gives better shape to the pencil case.
Este lindo proyecto inspirado en Zingu será un obsequio para una persona muy especial,la cartuchera que usa regularmente está algo deteriorada y rota, es tiempo de sustituirla por una más amplia y que además tenga uno de sus colores favoritos, el azul, el resultado me gustó y también la tela impermeable, al ser rígida da mejor forma a la cartuchera.
