Finishing projects: Flannel for my son [ENG - ESP]

Hello dear community lover of threads and needles, I wish you a happy and blessed beginning of the week, more than half of January has already passed, the days go fast; time moves forward and so do the sewing projects that were pending from last year, I set as a goal to finish my pending projects at the end of the month; as I mentioned in a previous publication for health reasons I had almost a year without sewing, thank God in August I gradually resumed sewing and I was able to finish several projects that were left with the cut pieces and start others, personally I like to take my time to cut and measure, except for emergencies, I can spend the day cutting the pieces of different projects, then I keep them in bags with their respective identification and so I can sew without pausing to cut a certain piece, this has helped me to save time while sewing and has worked for me to advance in my projects; today I share with you the flannel of a set that I sewed for my son, this consists of flannel and jogger, the jogger lacks the elastic and I hope to finish it in the course of the week; while I continue to advance what I can to achieve my goal.

With the pieces already cut (the front in vanilla and the back in camouflage), I started the sewing by pinning and right sides facing the front and back, sewing straight across the shoulders, then I pinned the sleeves right sides together and sewed them to the flannel, at the moment of cutting the flannel pieces the fabric was not enough to make the sleeves in the same color (I had bought this fabric to make a sweater with his sport jogger, I made the sweater first because it was a priority for my son to wear it at school to protect him from the cold, then the plans changed and with the remaining fabric I could make the jogger and an additional flannel), so I cut one sleeve in vanilla color and the other in camouflage.

Once the sleeves were attached I took the measurements of the collar and adjusted the rectangle of fabric I had left to make it, in this case I don't like to cut the exact collar piece before sewing, I prefer to cut a fairly long strip and adjust it to the size of the collar; I sewed by the ends I folded and with pins I fixed to the flannel facing right to right, I sewed with straight stitch and finished the collar, to finish I sewed a hem on the back side on the sleeves and on the hem.

When I thought I had finished I noticed that I had forgotten to stick the sticker to the flannel, they are thermo adhesive and the quickest solution was to fold a sheet and put it in the flannel, I put the sticker, 1 white sheet of paper carefully on top of it and with the iron at maximum I stuck it; it was a little uncomfortable because you can not manipulate the paper very well, since the sleeves and other pieces of the flannel are already sewn, the important thing was that I was able to solve and finish the flannel.

Sewing this flannel took me less time than I expected and this makes me very happy, because I am taking my sewing rhythm again, yes, I rest a little and continue with the project, when I start a job I don't stop until I finish, but for health reasons and to take care of my spine I must do it, it has not been easy because I don't want to pause, but it is fair and necessary to do it for my well being.

But what a beautiful shirt you have created and what delicate steps, I should have started with a shirt, instead I made a short for the first time, hahaha, with this post I have been able to understand a few doubts

Greetings @lauracraft, thank you for your visit, I'm glad it was helpful, for me the secret of the flannels is in cutting and sewing sew the sleeves well, when I cut the sleeves I rectify that it matches the flannel, so I avoid mishaps when sewing.

Have a nice and blessed day!

Feliz y bendecido martes!
