Grandfather nutcracker in fabric (Eng - Esp)
Greetings creative friends around the world, I wish you a Merry Christmas and that the new year comes loaded with many blessings, health and prosperity; today I share my entry for the contest nutcracker, I must say that this is the first time I make this cute character which is considered a guardian of Christmas, when I saw the theme of the contest we were just making Christmas dolls in the sewing course and the Nutcracker was one of them, The funny thing was that because of the season the skin color fabric was sold out in the main fabric store (El Castillo) and I had to wait several days to advance in the project like many of my classmates, but the Heavenly Father always provides us and a classmate had at home a piece of this fabric and very kindly gave us a small piece to make the face of the Nutcracker and so we were able to move forward.
At first I thought it was a difficult project to do, but as I progressed my expectations changed, in truth it is not so difficult, it just takes time and patience because there are small pieces and each part of the doll must be assembled separately and finally assembled.
Saludos amigos creativos en todo el mundo, deseo hayan pasado una feliz Navidad y que el nuevo año venga cargado de muchas bendiciones, salud y prosperidad; hoy comparto mi entrada para el concurso cascanueces, debo decir que es la primera vez que hago este simpático personaje el cual es considerado un guardián de la Navidad, cuando vi la temática del concurso justo estábamos haciendo los muñecos navideños en el curso de costura y el Cascanueces era uno de ellos, lo curioso fue que por la temporada la tela color piel se agotó en la principal tienda de venta de telas (El Castillo) y tuve que esperar varios días para poder avanzar en el proyecto al igual que muchas de mis compañeras, pero el Padre Celestial siempre nos provee y una compañera de curso tenía en su casa un retazo de esta tela y muy amablemente nos regaló un pequeño retazo para hacer la cara del Cascanueces y así pudimos avanzar.
Al principio pensé que era un proyecto difícil de hacer, pero mientras avanzaba mis expectativa cambiaron , en verdad no es tan difícil, solo que requiere tiempo y paciencia porque hay piezas pequeñas y se debe armar cada parte del muñeco por separado y finalmente ensamblar.

PROCEDURE
The first step is to mark and cut the patterns in the different fabrics, this step is important and is done calmly to avoid confusion or cutting the wrong piece.

El primer paso es marcar y cortar los patrones en las diferentes telas, este paso es importante y se hace con calma para evitar confusiones o cortar la pieza equivocada.
Then I sewed all the pieces right sides together using straight stitch, sewed each piece together, turned over and stuffed the pants and torso with wadding, then joined them with hand stitch.
Luego cosí todas las piezas enfrentando los derechos y usando puntada recta, cosida cada pieza volteé y rellené con guata el pantalón y torso, luego los uní con puntada a mano.
The next step was the making of the hat, for this I sewed the two pieces of the brim by the curved part, then I turned and pinned in the center of a rectangle of 28 * 10 centimeters that will form the hat, sewed with straight stitch, then glued the gold ribbon, sewed again joining the ends on the reverse side, closed the top opening, turned and glued the feather and a blue button in the center of the hat.
El siguiente paso fue la confección del gorro, para ello cosí las dos piezas del ala por la parte curva, luego volteé y con alfiler sujeté en el centro de un rectángulo de 28 * 10 centímetros que formará el gorro, cosí con puntada recta, luego pegué la cinta dorada, cosí nuevamente uniendo los extremos por el revés, cerré la abertura superior, volteé y pegué la pluma y un botón azul en el centro del gorro.
To make the head, I sewed the back and front pieces facing each other on the right side, then I turned over and stuffed with wadding, here it is important that the stuffing is firm, to work better when gluing the hair, then I glued the eyebrows, whiskers, eyes and nose.
I made the hair with strips of 3 centimeters wide and different lengths, rolled them and glued them with silicone from the center of the head to the eyes. In the same way I made the arms and added gold tape on the cuffs and shoulders.
Para hacer la cabeza, cosí las pieza trasera y delantera enfrentadas por el derecho, luego volteé rellené con guata, aquí es importante que el relleno quede firme, para trabajar mejor al pegar el cabello,luego pegué las cejas, bigotes, ojos y nariz.
El cabello lo hice con tiras de 3 centímetros de ancho y diferentes largos las enrollé y pegué con silicón desde el centro de la cabeza, hasta los ojos. de eta misma forma hice los brazos y agregué cinta dorada en lo puños y los hombros.
The last step is to make the boots, I sewed the pieces together by joining the ends in a U shape, then I flipped, sewed a circle at the bottom and the boot is ready, at this point I added frosted semi leather fabric to give shine to the boots, I filled the boots with wadding, added hot silicone and glued in the center, then I joined the body to the head, added silicone on top of the torso, to give it firmness I placed a wire hook from the torso to the head, so the Nutcracker is finished.
El último paso es hacer las botas, cosí uniendo por los extremos las piezas en forma de U, luego volteé, cosí un círculo en la parte de abajo y así está lista la bota, en este punto agregué tela semi cuero escarchada para darle brillo a las botas, rellené las botas con guata agregué silicón caliente y pegué en el centro, luego uní el cuerpo a la cabeza, agregué silicón en la parte superior del torso, para darle firmeza coloqué un gancho de alambre desde el torso hasta la cabeza, así está terminado el Cascanueces
