4:00 am: Suena el despertador. Un sonido ensordecedor que provoca es agarrar un martillo y golpearlo hasta que quede hecho pedacitos. Pero eso significaría que debo pararme a buscar el martillo para poder golpearlo y de esa forma igual ya saldría de la cama.

4:00 am: The alarm goes off. A deafening sound it makes is grabbing a hammer and pounding it to bits. But that would mean that I have to stop to look for the hammer so I can hit it and that way I would already get out of bed.

4:05 am: Dispuesta a asearme. Parada frente al espejo del baño, tomo mi cepillo de dientes y veo mi cara marcada por las sábanas, intento sonreír pero ya estoy algo estresada. El sonido de la alarma hizo que me levantara con el pie izquierdo.

4:05 am: Ready to clean up. Standing in front of the bathroom mirror, I take my toothbrush and see my face marked by the sheets, I try to smile but I'm already a little stressed. The sound of the alarm made me get up on the wrong foot.

4:10 am: Entro a la ducha. El calentador se dañó, por lo que me toca bañarme con agua fría. Saltando de un lado a otro y gritando porque me congelo. Salgo algo enjabonada, pero no aguanto el frío.

4:10 am: I go into the shower. The heater broke down, so I have to shower with cold water. Jumping around and screaming because I'm freezing. I come out somewhat soapy, but I can't stand the cold.

4:20 am: Ahora toca vestirme. El pantalón que pensaba ponerme hoy, se mojó con la lluvia de ayer, se me olvidó meterlo al corredor antes de salir. Me toca ponerme el mismo de ayer. Pero ese tiene un jueguito en el cierre, si lo subo mucho se sale la cremallera.

4:20 am: Now it's time to get dressed. The pants I was thinking of wearing today got wet from yesterday's rain, I forgot to put them in the corridor before going out. I have to wear the same one from yesterday. But that one has a little game in the zipper, if I pull it up a lot the zipper comes off.

4:35 am: Voy a preparar el desayuno. Monto mi ollita para preparar mi café y en la otra hornilla el sartén para tostar los panes. Cuando voy a colocar los panes me doy cuenta que las hornillas están apagadas. Se terminó el gas. Me toca montar rápidamente en la cocinita eléctrica la olla grande (que por cierto, es súper lenta), para preparar el café que voy a vender en el día.

4:35 am: I'm going to prepare breakfast. I assemble my pot to prepare my coffee and on the other stove the frying pan to toast the breads. When I go to place the loaves I realize that the burners are off. The gas is finished. I have to quickly assemble the large pot on the electric stove (which, by the way, is super slow), to prepare the coffee that I am going to sell that day.

5:30 am: ¡A correr!. Voy tardísimo, debo estar en la Estación de Servicio mucho antes de las 6:00 am, y estoy a 20 minutos de distancia.

5:30 am: Run!. I am very late, I must be at the Service Station well before 6:00 am, and I am 20 minutes away.

5:50 am: ¡Ya se me enfrió el guarapo!. Sofía llegó antes que yo y ya ha vendido dos termos de café. Perdí los buenos clientes.

5:50 am: My guarapo is already cold! Sofia arrived before me and has already sold two thermoses of coffee. I lost good customers.

Definitivamente, hoy no es mi día. Pero aún así, es hora de trabajar.

Today is definitely not my day. But still, it's time to work.
