Adventure to One of the World's Natural Wonders: Ha Long Bay, Vietnam [Eng-Esp]

To One of the World's Natural Wonders: Ha Long Bay, Vietnam
Hello, my dear friends at Hive! I hope you’re having a spectacular day. Today I want to tell you about Ha Long Bay (Vịnh Hạ Long), one of the natural wonders of the world located in none other than Vietnam. This country preserves its local traditions, which, in a way, have yet to be discovered by mass international tourism.

Although there are people from different parts of Europe, the United States, or Latin America, they are very few, and they all go, so to speak, “in peace”; they aren’t looking to transform the place or have the place transform for them, as happens in Thailand, which has already become a destination tailored to tourism and the profile of the tourists who visit it. However, Vietnam—I believe this will continue for only a short time—still retains its authenticity; it is the visitor who must adapt to Vietnam.

It is in this setting, very close to Hanoi, the capital of this country—which I found far too chaotic, far too noisy, and very disorganized—that this gem is located. It reminded me of many formations found in Thailand, where a sort of islets begin to emerge from a completely turquoise sea with an exceptional brilliance. They are not islands you can walk on, but rather like giant rocks rising out of the water.
In Vietnam, there’s a particular myth that says a dragon once threw various jewels and pearls from the sky, which turned into these islands scattered across the sea to protect the country. In my opinion, Ha Long Bay is worth visiting and staying there for at least two nights, because the energy in the place is beautiful, very strong, and powerful.

However, since I didn’t know this, I opted for a day trip. The journey is made on what they call cruises, and there are different types. I wanted to pay for the cheapest option, and well, they upgraded me to Premium—which is an intermediate tier that included, in addition to the trip, food, a bottle of water, and a party on the upper deck at sunset. Since I was traveling alone and didn’t know anyone, the nice thing about Vietnam was that there were many women traveling alone. I put together a small group just for that day with a girl from the Netherlands, another from Russia, another from Thailand, and me from Argentina/Italy. It was spectacular; we were dancing with some guys from Saudi Arabia.
Since I was traveling alone and didn’t know anyone, the great thing about Vietnam was that there were lots of women traveling solo. I put together a little group just for that day with a girl from the Netherlands, another from Russia, another from Thailand, and me from Argentina/Italy. It was amazing; we danced with some guys from Saudi Arabia and others from Morocco.
The truth is that my trip to Ha Long Bay only cost me €35, because Vietnam is still quite affordable. And the tour wasn’t just a cruise—which, yes, was on a large ship—around the various islets; it also included a visit to one of the largest caves in the area and a stop at a beach on another island.
Those who wanted to stay on the beach could stay, and those who wanted to hike up to the lookout point could go. I chose to stay on the beach because, it’s not that I was tired, but I’d already been through the cave, had climbed up and down, and I much preferred to stay and watch the sunset, the sand, and the water. I didn’t want to be on the move; I just wanted to sit still for a moment.

I have nothing more to say other than that I recommend this experience 100% because it’s truly exquisite. The landscape is, as I mentioned, one of the natural wonders of the world, and it truly deserves that title because it’s a dream come true. The sunlight begins to filter through the various islets, which are towering, creating a beautiful play of shadows. There are a lot of boats in the area because everyone is doing the same tour—that’s the only downside—but even so, it’s a must-see.
I hope you enjoy it; here are the photos to go along with this written account, ready to add to your list of adventures. Thank you so much for reading!
